Do you have a URL I can test with? Keep in mind that not all videos will have this tag.

I am capturing video from Samsung Galaxy S4 and then trying to retrieve the metadata. So I don't have any URL for that but if you insist, I can send you the video by email. it is giving all other information but not the orientation.
Is there any specific scenario in which the video will not have orientation tag?

If the software capturing the video doesn't add the tag it won't be available. If you send a sample video to [email protected] I will check.

I checked your video. As you can see from the FFmpeg output in the attached screenshot it does not contain a "rotate" metadata tag. My sample video (IMG_4645.MOV) does.

@wseemann : Yes, I was able to reproduce same result when I tried to check meta data information with ffmpeg library.
By the way, is there any other way to solve this issue or get information about orientation?
My ultimate focus is to get orientation information of the video which is either recently captured or selected from Gallery of android device.

As I said, the video encoder must imbed the rotation tag as part of the metadata for it to be detected. There isn't really any other solution.
