Why are you using inputStream.getFD() instead of setDataSource(Context context, Uri uri) or setDataSource(String path) if the video is stored locally?

I tried that as well and it also returned nulll. I think the library can find the video source because I can extract the metadata, but I cant get the frame.

Do you have a sample video I can test with? What format is the video in?

Hi!

Thank you for replying so quickly! I've retested using the build cloned from https://github.com/wseemann/FFmpegMediaMetadataRetriever/tree/master/fmmr-demo and it does not accept https links (it says metadata cannot be fetched). I've modified the demo app to fetch a video from the gallery and using the FFmpegMediaMetadataRetriever to fetch the bitmap and it's returning null. I pushed the modified build to https://github.com/w2ji/FFmpegMediaMetadataRetriever/tree/demo_test. I can fetch the metadata with no problem, but I just can't get the frames.

The build you've sent me works for the url but it seems like it's different than the one I found at the remote above. is it possible for you to write an example that uses video selected locally from the gallery?

Thank you so much!

The demo app I emailed you is the same codebase as the demo. Sorry, I don't really have time to make more demo apps since I already sent proof that it will work.

would you have time to take a look at https://github.com/w2ji/FFmpegMediaMetadataRetriever/tree/demo_test? I've been stuck on this for really long time. Would you happen to have another url that works for your demo?
