That's exactly as it is meant to work as it requires sidekiq/testing by default, as you would in your spec_helper.rb usually. That takes Sidekiq "offline" so enqueuing never hits Redis but instead gets added to an array you can then asset upon.

My hunch is that you don't have your Gemfile directive sitting in a test group. Give this a try...

# Gemfile
group :test do
  gem "rspec-sidekiq"
end

actually, I had it in group :test, development, since I already had some rspec stuff there.

I'd recommend putting something in the documentation about this, since you're including something outside of spec_helper.rb that will break non-test environments. Especially since rspec itself can be included in the development environment without causing any real issues.

sounds good. It was a mistake on my part, but the consequence is that it causes a problem that is pretty much impossible to diagnose.
