Hi,
I would definitively love to have this in xbrowsersync !
Moving for the -now dead- xmarks, profiles is the only feature I really miss.
But obviously it makes sense to finish major browsers support first :-)

Hi @Metal-Frog, interesting suggestion. Just to be clear, are you saying only bookmarks in the selected profile would be created in the local browser but you would still see bookmarks from all profiles within the xBrowserSync app /extension?

Hi,
when you've selected the profile "home" you see only those from that profile. None from the others.
If you add a new bookmark it is visible in all profiles. If you would like to change this you have to call the GUI to edit the profiles.

Right I see, thanks for the clarification. I think this would make a good feature for v2 once all the core syncing functionality has been implemented and major browsers supported.

Not at all. I would like profiles too (for selected syncing). The aforementioned comment was a joke (not entirely actually, but never mind)...

+1 on this feature. Currently using "syncmarcx" until profiles are implemented. There are lots of bookmark sync options, but the profile setting is what made xmarks unique and useful.
Looking forward to seeing it here!

+1 it would also help the user of Vivaldi, since your extensions create is own folder on a way Vivaldi's user don't see it, and if they use the main folder bar, Vivaldi and the extension go crazy when you try to erase something from the bookmarks.

Profile folder will help them to create a profile Vivaldi (the time the browser will be officially supported)

Has there been any movement on this?

I'm also looking forward to profiles. Currently I have two separate syncs; one for my home computers and one for my work computers. But there are many bookmarks that are in both (development reference, local news, etc). I'd love to have one sync that has some folders that always show up, some that only appear on work computers, and some that only appear at home.

This would also help accidentally creating duplicates. I regularly go through each sync to add and remove bookmarks in common folders. But it's possible that I add a site on my work computer and store it in one folder and then go home to bookmark it at home but put it in a different folder. So when I do my sync, I create extra links.

It could be as simple as a search filter. i.e. from a user perspective:

1. Select folders to sync,
2. Assign profile name
3. Persist to server
