Okay, so I think I see what's happening here. The issue seems to occur when a mod is loaded on my character collection, but isn't loaded on the default collection, or has different settings. This causes other characters (or the examine window preview) to have the affected body parts become invisible.

I'm renaming the issue to make this more clear.

I haven't tested this locally yet but @BSoD38 the character collection will not apply at all to the preview windows. I will use whatever the default collection + forced collection has in it. Have you checked those two to make sure the mod is fully configured there? I've seen this happen with Fabulous Trans Men when the configuration is not fully setup among other body mods

From what I've seen, any outfit/armour mod that is enabled on my character collection, but isn't enabled on the default collection will leave empty/invisible body parts on other players AND on preview windows.
I never had the issue on Penumbra 0.4.2.7, as I had the exact same mod configuration before and after updating, and started seeing the issue only after updating.
Sadly, I can't test this very extensively for other players as I don't have friends that play as a Hrothgar, so I did my tests with the preview window for now.
So, as I said on the first post: When I get the "invisible body parts" issue, the issue will disappear temporarily if I enable then re-disable the mod on the default collection until the next loading screen. If you need a video example just tell me and I'll happily do it.
For now, as a workaround, I'll disable my character collection and use my character collection on the default collection.
