Did you press super+A while the overview was already visible, or did you press it from your normal desktop? Because on my system super+A from my normal desktop instantly shows the "all applications" view, whereas pressing super+A while the overview is visible takes longer because of the default animation of the app icons.

For me, from both starting points it shows lag; and the lag is also present when going to Activities.

Same here on Dell XPS 13 (9360) with i7-7500U and Intel HD Graphics 620 and GS 3.24.3 on Wayland (Archlinux)

Yes the animations still lag. Atm on ubuntu 17.10 with gnome 3.26 now on the same intel machine
