Minimum info needed:

  • Which version of ZeroClipboard?
  • What browser and which version?
  • Which version of Adobe Flash Player? Get it the easy way.
  • If you are using Chrome, do you have the built-in Flash Player ("PepperFlash") disabled?

Hey James! Thanks for the quick response!

-- Latest version of ZC
-- Chrome (latest)
-- Flash v 11,5,31,139 installed
-- PepperFlash is not disabled

You will either need to disable PepperFlash (and use Adobe Flash) or else wait for Chrome 25 + Flash 11.6: http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=171687

Please let us know if neither of these solves your problem.

Hey @JamesMGreene - I did notice this.

On the test page :: http://jonrohan.github.com/ZeroClipboard/#demo --- Chrome works without any hitches with PepperFlash.

Really? Hmm, very interesting. We'll have to look into it more.

Have you tried replacing the alerts with some sort of non-blocking actions, e.g. console.log or adding a message to the DOM? I know Firefox 18-19 are having issues with alert + Flash, though I'm pretty sure those are specific to Firefox's recent security changes to the Gecko engine.

Actually, I tested in Safari with a newly downloaded flash --- no dice on that either (even using console.log instead of alert)

To be clear: in Safari with the latest Flash, the Demo page works but your page does not. Correct?

Demo works in Safari with latest flash, as well as Chrome with PepperFlash, but not my page :D

My first guess is the positioning calculated may be wrong. I would try debugging your page by throwing a border: 1px solid red; around the flash bridge. Then see if it's being positioned correctly.

Hey Jon,

Thanks for the help!

Could you more specifically explain the flash bridge?
:) What is that?

Open your web inspector, you'll see the div that contains the flash object.

Then you can directly add a red border to it.

Then when you hover over your object, you'll be able to see if it lines up correctly

yeah just checked - it was nowhere near the button.

does it need to be overtop of the button then?

does the button need a higher z-index than the media?

Thanks for your help with this, Jon!
