I've hidden the footer, decreased head and input field height, so now it looks like this:

Still too small space to view, while typing, but I have another important features to do for now. Will return to this problem later.

Adding a new item to the list "Hide per message in-line avatar in single conversations. " due issue #87

from webogram.

nukeador avatar nukeador commented on August 15, 2024

I've updated the list with three more items:

  • Use bubbles for messages (#87).
  • Conversation background should be transparent to show app background.
  • Show media, edit and info links should go to a conversation settings dialogue (callable from icon)

What about something like:
#242
to fix "Telegram text and icon should be hidden on conversation view."?

The result should be something like this:

P.S. There's no special reason to use 400px. I was just playing around and it worked for me.
P.S.2: What about a device/viewport that is always <400px height by <400px width? Should we be using on-focus together with media (max-height 400px)?

@mautematico How to you go back with that modification?

Check the first android screenshot, the header has a way to go back.

So there is a big update for this issue. Now mobile UI looks like this:
img_3802
img_3804

I don't like putting peer photo to the blue header as it will be expected to open profile, not dropdown menu.

Also I don't find putting messages into bubbles and adding background useful for now. But I hope, we'll improve send message form as described above.

Wow, it looks great, good job @zhukov :D

Yep, the problem with the current send message form is that uses two lines of vertical space instead of one. Maybe you can move the attach options into the top right dropdown menu, so there is only one line on the bottom:

[smilies] [text input] [send-icon]

Maybe something like this?

mokup

That's obviously a mockup and I don't know if it's even possible to do, but it'd solve the problem.

nukeador avatar nukeador commented on August 15, 2024

@Ecron that's right, but I would invert the send and emoticon order because users are used to have the submit to the right.

@zhukov I don't know if related with these changes, but webogram main content (topbar is fine) is displaying a blank screen on Firefox OS devices.

Great @zhukov, now it looks awesome (I think SEND button position is not important as people will press it wherever it's placed. Maybe Emoji button is so close to SEND and in small screens and big fingers this can be a problem, but... people will say so).

Things it's necessary to improve:

  • When pressing Menu > Photos (or any media) there's no way to come back (there's no Show all messages button).
  • If you want to send a picture as a Document because you want to preserve all its quality, you can't, because every picture will be sent as image.

But I think you did a great job there 😉
