I have tested a variant. You can store the form fields in the url when the captcha is wrong and capture them again when you open the form again. But this means that all form fields are in the url and obtained with GET. This works fine. I have tested this locally, but might not be ideal.

Would it be an idea to store the formdata in a session variable. I have tried this as well and this works also fine.

It is easiest to handle this kind of information if the form also uses arrays instead of seperate fields. See also #16 , the ticket on making formicula post arrays. Posting arrays in combination with storing this info in a session variable when a wrong captcha has been used seems to be the best way as far as I can see.

So we can close this one then ? :-) It only works with the new forms, people have to convert to array based forms for it to work. It cannot be out of hte box, since you have to add defaults to the form fields
