Apologies for my absence. This problem occured only when invalid connection information was provided to node-stratum. Node-stratum would send a request and wait for a response. Eventually it would time out and get a blank / broken response but attempt to read information from it anyway.

Can't replicate this and not sure if its still an issue so I'm closing. If someone else runs into it then feel free to comment.

Yeah, forgot to comment that the issue stopped happening and node-stratum failed gracefully (which I assume is the intended behavior). Must have been some buggy code somewhere that got fixed at some point.
