1. Fennec F-Droid

   • Browser that supports current and anticipated web standards.

2. Bromite

   • Bromite is a Chromium fork with ad blocking and enhanced privacy; take back your browser.

   • Note: Custom repo is required.

3. Privacy Browser

   • A web browser that respects your privacy.

   • Note: Uses WebView as their rendering engine.

4. Tor Browser

   • Experience real private browsing without tracking, surveillance, or censorship.

   • Note: Custom repo is required

File managers

1. Simple File Manager

   • A simple file manager for browsing and editing files and directories.

2. Material Files

   • Open source Material Design file manager.

3. Amaze

   • Manage local files.

Gallery

1. Simple Gallery Pro

   • A premium app for managing and editing your photos, videos, GIFs without ads.

   • Note: This app is part of a collection of Simple Apps.

EXIF / Metadata editors

1. Imagepipe

   • Removes exif data and modifies images to reduce size before sharing.

2. Scrambled Exif

   • Remove the metadata from your pictures before sharing them.

Music players

1. Vanilla Music

   • Listen to and manage songs.

1. VLC

   • The best video and music player. Fast and “just works”, plays any file.

2. mpv

   • mpv-android is a video player for Android based on libmpv.

F-droid clients

1. F-Droid

   • The app store that respects freedom and privacy.

   • Note: Users with root privileges may want to add: F-Droid Privileged Extension, however having a rooted device may compromise some of your security.

2. Foxy Droid

   • Yet another F-Droid client.

3. Aurora Droid

   • An alternative to the default F-Droid app with an intuitive UI and multiple great features...

   • Note: Not to get confused with the Play Store client Aurora Store.

1. Feeder

   • An awesome Free and Open Source RSS Feed reader.

E-mail clients

1. K-9 Mail

   • Full-featured email client.

   • NOTE: For new design, choose the latest release, not the recommended release.

2. FairEmail

   • Fully featured email client. Neat, intuitive user interface. Privacy friendly.

Password Manager

1. Bitwarden

   • Open Source Password Management for You and Your Business

2. KeePassDX

   • Secure and open source password manager compatible with KeePass files.

Social Media clients (Reddit, Facebook, etc)

1. Slide

   • Companion app for reddit.

2. Frost for Facebook

   • A fast and extensive third party wrapper for Facebook.

   • Note: Not to be confused with the Icon pack with a similar name

3. Barinsta

   • Simple yet advanced Instagram client.

   • Note: Used to be called InstaGrabber.

4. Element (Riot.im)

   • Secure decentralised chat & VoIP. Keep your data safe from third parties.

5. NewPipe

   • Lightweight YouTube frontend.

   • Note: Also has his own repository.

   • We live in a world full of languages. Why not use a multi-lingual keyboard?

   • Note: This application in F-droid keeps getting their logo changed every day, this is their F-droid package link.

   • An opensource keyboard that does not spy on you!

   • Free, secure and open source 2FA app to manage tokens for your online services.
