pixeltimes's Issues

Question: how to build the separator stl

Hi,

I want to make a slightly changed version of your 3mm separator grid for use with a 64x32 display.
Can you give me an hint how you created the STL? (I'm a 3D beginner)
As it is a rather easy 3D model I was thinking that maybe you created it programmatically (e.g. using numpy-stl.

Thanks!

Acrylics glass

Hi,

Cool project :) I'm trying to build a similar thing since last year. I have one issue though, can't find a place to buy the same Acrylic glass that you have used... Could you point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Working 50%

Followed guide to the letter, great instructions by the way. Test pattern works as described but pixel times only displays on rows 0-3 and 8-11. I tried to find any settings that may differ between the pattern and the pixeltimes program but I could not find it.

I would greatly appreciate help with this

-edit: I realized I had the panel upside down (wiring was unaffected) so the row numbers were off.

Animation Only source

I'd like to build a PixelTime around an ESP32, and I've got it working with the test.ino but I'd like to set it up to only do the GIF animation portion.

What's the best way to do so?

Creating animations

Hi, I'm trying to create my own animation but couldn't understand your instruction, can you please make it a little more clear? like step by step instruction.
here is what I did.
I download a few gif images and I put them into the same directory where is my image_to_array.sh and creat_program.py script is. then I tried to run image_to_array.sh from the terminal (Command Prompt) but it doesn't work.

ESP8266 Crashes - 'ISR not in IRAM!'

Hi Dominic,

Thank you for this entertaining project.

However, I am unable to get it running on a 64x32 P3 display.

I have followed the instructions and installed the libraries required, but get an error whenever the ESP8266 connects with the router. (I have replaced it with the regular WifiUDP library as well to see if its a connection problem but the result is the same).

Are there steps to take to solve this problem? Please let me know what information I can further provide.
Thank you for your time!

hardware question?

Hey there!

Thank you for the awesome guide. I have a laser cutter, 3d printed and screens and thought this was a perfect project!

I have tons of acrylic but no transparent black? I have that transparent white acrylic which is used to diffuse light for signage do you think that will work? I was not sure what you meant by 50% grey acrylic?

Also your nodemcu model. I have about 6 different esp8266 and none of them fit the little holder. Is there a specific model?

The ones I have that fit width wise don't fit because they have a reset button. Do you have any links to the right one?

thanks heaps!
