install-dependencies's Issues

Everything in INSTALL_DEPENDENCIES_HOME should be read only

Fuck JSON ! Why not move to a simpler line format (path url checksum)
It would be easier to read, less prone to syntax errors (forgot a comma, etc) and could easily support comments (lines beginning with #)

Remove dependencies

Remove all previous links before install to support removing a dependency. So for example. if one deletes Dependencies and run install-dependencies, all previously installed will be removed.

The process of linking may create intermediate directories, so removing may leave those behind. Ideally those empty directories should be removed too.

Add local URL

Useful for development, eg having

vendors/foo ../foo/src

Creates a link in INSTALL_DEPENDENCIES_HOME pointing to folder instead of downloading.

Add optional hash function

Die when not Administrator on Windows

Windows need Administrator privilege to create links (or a user been given the privilege). Update to test and die soon with "Please run as Administrator" message when on Windows and cannot create links
