Who am I?

I'm a hired gun / freelance software developer specialising in pragmatic funtional languages like F# and Elm etc but I also like languages in general such as Pony, Rust, Swift, and Kotlin. Very occasional speaker, sometimes hermit.

Over the years I've done a lot of work on F# OSS projects like the F# addin for monodevelop/Xamarin Studio/VS4 Mac, created the FSharp.Compiler.Service to help tooling services in the early days when it was even more fragmented, general F# hacking and exploring the boundries.

Why didn't we finish Fracture?

What's the future of F#?

Tip/s to balance between tech and business for someone who is starting in tech consulting or tech industry

Love for tech and excitement for tech many times remove the balance between business and tech.

Simple example from one of my earlier company that even though CTO loved and worked in F#. As company grows he shifted to Java for totally business reasons. Means not even Scala...

So question is how to keep things interesting while keeping the business part going. Be it salary or consulting.

Why did you leave Xamarin?

Why mono / OSX?

You've made huge efforts and spent lot of time to promote xplat F# - working on all desktop platforms + major mobile ones. Why not just be happy with targeting Windows?
