clarifai-photo-sorter's Introduction

clarifai-photo-sorter

Photo Sorter using the Clarifai Python API

This command line tool organizes an unsorted folder of images into multiple folders with descriptive names based on the photo content, through the power of the Clarifai image recognition system.

Usage (with Python 2.7)

  1. Obtain Clarifai credentials and set them up on your machine's environment as dictated on their website.
  2. Run python photo_sorter.py <original photo directory path>
  3. Check the newly created albums/ directory

clarifai-photo-sorter's Issues

ImportError: No module named setuptools

So I'm a newbie and don't have any experiences with Python just than simple beginner codes. I thought maybe I should wait and master Python, but this tool is so interesting that I can't wait any longer to see it sorting my photo collection!

Things that I've done so far:
1. Installed Python 2.7 on my computer (OS: Windows 7 64-bit)
2. Signed up on Clarifai's website
3. Headed to Clarifai API Python Client and downloaded the ZIP
4. Unzipped the package and tried to run setup.py, first time I got the following error after running the code in IDLE:

Traceback (most recent call last):
      File "<pyshell#0>", line 1, in <module>
       from setuptools import setup, find_packages
    ImportError: No module named setuptools

5. Downloaded get-pip.py from here and did run it, but then got another error while trying to run setup.py:
error: no commands supplied

So I'm not sure what I should do next and even after a successful installation of Clarifai API Python Client, should I run the suggested codes like the following, in the Python command line?
pip install clarifai==2.0.20

Thanks in advance.
