This screensaver looks great, but the numbers are so large that it's hard to read when close the screen. I'm used to Cinnamon and Windows lock screens, which have much smaller clocks (e.g., Cinnamon: https://antergos.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/cinnamon-screensaver.png, Windows 10: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/q-MmDEBB2fQ/maxresdefault.jpg).
Perhaps you could create a dropdown that provides a few different size options: Small, Medium, and Large.
The gap between the numbers' top and bottom part is too less, please add a flag to increase it.
After put my laptop on stand-by, when I re-open my session, my CPU load is 100% for one of my 4 CPUs and after an htop, I showed that 'gluqlo -root' was the process that load my CPU.
I don't know if you have an idea of where is the problem but I raise this issue at least for information.
I didn't have this issue each time I put my laptop on stand-by.
In AM/PM format the 12 O'clock hours are incorrect and reversed. 12:00 Noon - 12:59 should be PM and 12:00 Midnight - 12:59 should be AM. Clock displays opposite.
The screensaver is showing in the app but when i click it, It is showing not installed in the preview section and i am not able to use it please help
Just a suggestion...
add: -tc FFFFFF Number text color
-fc 0F0F0F Flap color
-bc 000000 Background color
As changing the color variables FONT_COLOR and BACKGROUND_COLOR in gluqlo.c doesn't seem to work as one would expect.
Hi.
I have installed the screensaver on a PI.
The powersaving settings gets ignored when using the gluqlo screensaver. They work nicely with all other ones...
Something that can be fixed? :-)
Please update your PPA to include release files for Cosmic, Disco, etc!
In Fedora 35, SDL has been updated to version 2. Please add the support for SDL2. The SDL_SetVideoMode (available in SDL 1.x) should be replaced with SDL_CreateWindow..
Is there the way to install the gluqlo on Raspbian?
Current
/usr/lib/xscreensaver/gluqlo -f
cause the window to expand to all the screens, due to which the clock is split between monitors.
Expected Result
The primary monitor should present the clock while other monitors should show a black screen.

Program seems to always assume landscape display orientation, and will truncate image on landscape oriented displays. This can be corrected by adding the "-s" scale flag with some fiddling around as this feature isn't specifically clear (for others reading this, any decimal value greater than one is larger, any value less than one and greater than zero is smaller. DEFAULT_WIDTH and DEFAULT_HEIGHT variables in gluqlo.c only effect windowed size when executed directly and not as a xscreensaver hack, as a hack it seems to ignore these variables). The "-s" flag can also be used to tweak how "full" the display is on the screen. The "-w", "-h" and "-r" flags seem to have no effect if supplied in "advanced" hack mode that I can tell, I assume they simply alter the "DEFAULT_" values mentioned above. Also "-h", a fairly standard usage flag, "Segmentation fault"s, maybe "-h", "-?" and "--help" should all output usage data to avoid the appearance that something is broken.
Anyway... A command line flag like "-p" for portrait or "-o " (defaulting to the as is current landscape mode), where portrait stacks the rounded boxes vertically one on top of the other as opposed to the landscape horizontally oriented, would be a nice feature, and either way be more aware of the limits of the display area without having to fiddle with the scale.
This program, even as is, is excellent for small TFT displays on SBCs like the Raspberry Pi, and provides a really easy option for a continuous useful display, and acting as a screensaver running over a Chromium kiosk GUI driving some scripts, makes for a really simple to create black box controller with a stealth function hidden beneath the clock display. A RPi Zero with a 2.4" display is actually about small enough to stick in a wall switch box.
I was trying to use gluqlo
, but gluqlo was not showing up at XScreenSaver
...
Reading Makefile
i saw that the destination to gluqlo file was to /usr/lib/xscreensaver
, but there was no other xscreensaver file in that directory, but there was in /usr/libexec/xscreensaver
.
I did:
make uninstall
edit in Makefile /usr/lib/xscreensaver to /usr/libexec/xscreensaver
ran make install
and GLUqlo showed up in XScreenSaver.
I just don't know if it is a Ubuntu 22.04 particularity, but i had this problem and solved this way.
