tiii.me's Introduction

This is the data of my website

I got tired of hosting companies (last one was a VPS Linode), their crappy customer support and losing files (got hacked, files got erased = no website). Now I host my website on GitHub, from my Dropbox folder (so I can have access to it from anywhere).

I wrote about how I moved my websites in this article.

tiii.me's Issues

Duplicates should be ignored

When you add a series a second time, its time is added again.
I think it should check when you add the series, or even better: disable the entry in the suggestions.

Duplicated series

If the number of series you've tipped is too long, you can't remember all the series you've chosen. Duplicated shows are allowed. I think it should have an advice.

Export/import capability

It would be nice to have some sort of export/import-capability. For example a simple textfield with two buttons.
export fills the textfield with a comma-seperated list of all show currently added
import adds each entry from the comma-seperated list into the view

That would be a nice feature, to store/restore the added shows, in case the localStorage might be cleared somehow.
Otherwise very, very nice idea :)

Massive Amounts of Request

Perhaps adding a delay before the search begins or having a search button instead of querying the server as soon as a character is added? Unless you've got a massive datacenter at your disposal, I don't think it's that good of an idea.

Instructions

More instructions are needed, at first I thought I was entering the number of episodes.

Can't share more than the resulting time

Maybe the shows added could also be exported and imported elsewhere destructively or non-destructively as JSON for example.
Maybe I'll do it myself when I have some time and make a pull request...

Can't find The Office?

I can't get the TV show "The Office" to show up. Trakt has it as "The Office (US)" but this doesn't work either. ("The Office 1995" is not the right show)

The # field is confusing

What does this field do? What am I supposed to enter?

I thought maybe it was supposed to be the number of sessions I want to watch the show in.
But maybe it's the number of episodes I've watched? Or the number of seasons?

Responsive?

I tried to visit your page on my phone, but every thing was overlapping and the font was too big.

Chrome Doesn't Display Time

Hi there, when I search for a show (used two examples: Gossip Girl and The Simpsons), I entered it correctly, the time flashed for a brief 0.5 secs before just leaving me to stare at the DVD Box Cover?

Any reason why that is?

Searches with symbols

Searching "Steins" returns "Steins;Gate" but searching "Steins;Gate" causes the page to just output "Searching..." forever.

Could be a bug in symbol handling.

Calculate time spent for a list of TV Shows watched?

Hi there,

I just found out about http://tiii.me. The number looks interesting to find out but, when you've seen a bunch of TV Shows it's really painful to add every one of them manually here!
I generally keep track of all the TV Shows watched on Facebook. I suppose most people do on some sort of website.
How about giving a option for user to fetch the watched shows list and calculate the total time used (wasted!) there?

Let me know if you would like to include this as a feature into your main application.
I can look into it and send you a pull request in some time.

Show name is not autocompleted when I move to the next field

I type in "breaking bad", then press tab to get to the number field.

Result: nothing at all is displayed
Expected result: the Breaking Bad show will be selected

If the user doesn't select one of the autosuggested shows, the first autosuggested show should be selected when the field loses focus.

Many shows error due to runtime policy change

No idea if you still intend to maintain this, but it seems that sometime recently TMDb has added per-episode runtimes and changed their policy to prefer leaving the series-level runtime blank if per-episode runtimes aren't consistent. This appears to break the way you currently use the API response for quite a few shows. Looks like their API docs are down, so I can't tell how much work it would be to loop through the runtime of all episodes to get an average.
