oh-my-zsh-reminder's Introduction

oh-my-zsh-reminder

A very very simple OhMyZsh plugin which displays reminders above every prompt

This small plugin allows your terminal to remind you that you have somethind to do. Start adding a task :

$ todo Delete this task
Todo :
  - Delete this task

$

You can add an other one :

$ todo Keep this one
Todo :
  - Delete this task
  - Keep this one

$

When a task is done, remove it from the list :

$ task_done Delete
Todo :
  - Keep this one

$

When all tasks are done, reminder vanishes :

$ task_done Keep

$

That's all for the moment. As I said, very very simple. Maybe will be improved later.

Installation

To install, clone the repo into ~/.oh-my-zsh/custom/plugins (ZSH plugins don't allow dashes, so make sure you clone it into a single-word folder):

git clone https://github.com/AlexisBRENON/oh-my-zsh-reminder ~/.oh-my-zsh/custom/plugins/reminder

Then add it to your list of plugins in ~/.zshrc (e.g plugins=(reminder common-aliases extract git sudo taskwarrior)).

oh-my-zsh-reminder's Issues

Remove colors from task description

Currently, task color is saved along with the task description.
This make it difficult to do some pattern matching, or to define completions.

A solution would be to declare an array of colors, updated at the same time than the task array.
Any help is welcome.

task_done will always delete first occurrence of a substring instead of checking for full string

Hi, this plugin is simply great, but I have a major problem using it.

In the case of two tasks like

  • a b c
  • a c d

$ task_done a c d
or even
$ task_done "a c d"
command will delete a b c instead of a c d.

I suppose this is because it goes for a start to end check and deletes on first match but it is kinda frustrating as I frequently use todos like "fix a" "fix b" etc.

Is there any way to avoid this? Do I need to use any specific syntax for the task_done command?

Installation guide and docs

Hi @AlexisBRENON can you provide a simple guide/doc about the installation and configuration of zsh-reminder?? It looks nice but i need to see how to install and use it correctly.

Thanks..

Feature request:

I'd love to have this per repo/folder. Meaning, I cd into a project folder and then the list of tasks from such project appear if I go into another non-root project folder the list goes away.

Thoughts?

Running on a time interval

It would be great to have the tasks display on a timer instead of every prompt. Would you be interested in this feature? I don't have experience writing much zsh, but I could take on the task if interested.
