intel-nuc6i7kyk-opencore's Issues

NUC can't boot with just HDMI connected.

Monitor:
I can't get HDMI to work (don't have DP to test) but just having HDMI plugged in will start the boot process and at the stage where you would expect the Apple Logo the screen just turns black and the NUC reset itself. For now I have unplugged HDMI and using USB-C / Thunderbolt and that seems to work fine. Any idea how to get just HDMI to work?

Boot / Volumes:
Just FYI - I have replaced VBoxHfs.efi with HfsPlus.efi so OpenCore can see and boot my APFS Fusion Drive. (I've got two exactly the same Crucial M2 SSD installed)

Thanks a lot for your work, pretty straight forward process with awesome result (can finally use my NUCintosh without random freezes and reboots)

Stuck at apple logo

Hi and thanks for everything.
I have done exactly as you say but the installer just stuck at apple logo.

Thank you for this repo very much

Thunderbolt support

The USB-C/Thunderbolt port appears to be partially active on _SB.PCI0.RP05 if a device is connected at boot.
I don't have any Thunderbolt devices to test with, but USB is activated under the TBTC subdevice when my phone is plugged in through USB-C on boot.

Unplugging however causes the device to disappear and cannot be reactivated until reboot. No NHI0 ACPI device or similar is ever present in my own testing.

A good starting point would be to force the Thunderbolt controller to activate with TBFP and the device known as WMTF (PNP0C14)?

Intermittent dual display blank screen issues

From #11

On Big Sur I also seem to get this, but rarely (mDP->DP, HDMI->HDMI)
Wouldn't surprise me if it's Apple bodging AppleIntelSKLGraphicsFramebuffer to just about work, as authors of WEG note that

Support for 2 or more displays on Intel Skylake and newer desktops is missing or buggy. In macOS 10.14.x there is an improvement tendency.

Usb port issue

None of the usb ports reads wd external drive, the drive is 3.0 so I believe the 3.0 usb ports are not configured

Handoff / Continuity Support

Hi Alex,

I was wondering if there is any chance to patch the Handoff / Continuity support with the Intel NUC?
I have temporarily tried using the HeliPort WiFi but Handoff is still not showing up my iPad Pro which is connected via cable...

Any hint would be appreciated :-)

Thanks again!

Black80211 + itlwm

Black80211 with usr-sse2's modified itlwm driver will allow the Intel wireless card to be enumerated as a WiFi device, and not as an Ethernet device.
This will allow the use of the native macOS WiFi menu/Network preferences section to scan, join networks, etc.

Intermittent miniDP display timing error on boot

Occasionally when booting, the (primary) display connected to miniDP doesn't operate correctly. A message appears on screen about the input timing not being correct.

After hotplugging miniDP this seems to fix itself, but unsure if NVRAM weirdness or something else has caused this recently.

Display does not wake after resume from sleep

Displays on HDMI and mini DP remain dark when the system is awakened from sleep.
Hotplugging one of the displays seems to wake them up again, but it'd be better if it did this by itself...

Thought force-online might fix it, but it had no effect

Dual monitor not working

Hello,
First of all thanks for the awesome project.

I can't get dual monitors to work. I have a monitor attached with miniDP and HDMI as well. If both are connected after boot only the hdmi one works, but I can see both of them in system preferences.
If I only connect miniDP then if works but the system crashes if I connect the HDMI after.

Is there a way to enable both displays?

Thank you
