Same here, the cli works fine and takes these config options into account, but the bot doesn't.
I think we need to update the bot to the latest cli version (v6.14.2). It's still pointing to v6.11.2 in the yarn.lock file.

@C0ZEN I didn't provide any fix, I only opened an issue to not populate your others and closed it to not clog your issue list.
The PR was the one made by the bot.
I have restricted permissions preventing me to submit a PR to fix that issue so I asked on our Slack server to see if anyone could.

A little update to this - it works for the command line tool! I've got that installed (I found the cli really hard to install on windows but I switched to a linux virtual machine and its going great over there!)

After getting it to work on your VM, did you still got the error on your terminal?

KirstieJane avatar KirstieJane commented on June 17, 2024

The terminal always worked - it’s installing all the requirements that I found really hard for windows. This issue is about the bot not ordering the table when it opens a PR. Sorry for mixing two comments together.

Berkmann18 avatar Berkmann18 commented on June 17, 2024

Ha okay, the bot relies on the CLI for ordering so unless you don't have an up-to-date version of it, then it shouldn't a problem (I could be wrong tho).

Sorry - I think I don’t follow your point. When I was using the bot it did not take into account the flag for the alphabetical ordering.

Is it possible that the bot has the wrong version of the cli?

Is it possible that the bot has the wrong version of the cli?

That's possibly the case given, I couldn't find any alphabetical-sort related PRs on the bot repo.

@KirstieJane @baikho Do you both still have this issue with the bot?

C0ZEN avatar C0ZEN commented on June 17, 2024

I also have the error. In fact, I never see this feature works. @Berkmann18 could give it a try if you want by adding a fake contributor to my project.

Berkmann18 avatar Berkmann18 commented on June 17, 2024

@C0ZEN Hmm, which one in particular?

from app.

C0ZEN avatar C0ZEN commented on June 17, 2024

@Berkmann18 on this project I use the bot to add contributors. The configuration for contributorsSortAlphabetically is set to true however when I add a contributor the list in .all-contributorsrc and in the ``README.md` the new contributor is always added at the end. The sort is not working.

C0ZEN avatar C0ZEN commented on June 17, 2024

@Berkmann18 following the PR you opened on my project, am I right to assume that the problem is related to this issue and that the fix you provided (if I understood correctly what you did) did not solved it?

@KirstieJane h. is this still relevant today? can you try now? let us know if this still occurs today. Closing this for now.
