developer-interview-questions's Issues

More questions

From Matt Hoffman:

  • Why are you hiring someone for this role? What don't you presently know how to do?
  • What new knowledge should I bring with me?
  • Who can I learn from?

Suggestions

  • Tell me about a project that didn't go well.
  • How do you
  • What challenges does the department/company face in the next month/six months/year?
  • How are performance reviews / salary reviews handled?
  • What in my background (or on my resume) do you see as the most beneficial for the team?
  • What's the work environment like? Cube farm? Big open war room? Can I see (and hear) where I'd be doing my work?
  • Are there options for working from home, even partially?
  • What do people typically do for lunch?
  • Which departments do you typically interface with the most?
  • Are projects usually by team or solo?

TODO: Telecommuting

  • Do you allow telecommuting? What does that mean exactly? Does it mean "You can work from home 3 days a year when the plumber is coming" or does it mean anyone can work from anywhere, in any amounts?
  • If you allow telecommuting in the latter sense, do you cover the expenses incurred by the remote employees [laptop, internet connection, phone, hardware, software, a nice desk and chair, etc]? What happens if something happens to these things?
