miniDLNA changes video/x-msvideo to video/avi for Xbox and DLNADOC/1.50 clients. I think it's reasonable to do this for all clients of dms, as I've targeted DLNADOC/1.50 from the beginning.

Confirmed..
But i'm still had to use ronindev/dms-cache on my RaspberryPi media center =)

Great. Is the caching to avoid excessive work during operation due to the Pi's limited resources?

Exactly! ffprobe'ing of all media content in the folder takes a long time.. In memory cache works fine, but after reboot i had wait looong time with my media, without file cacheing
