cloudy-uploader's Issues

Where are email and password stored?

The README mentions that they are stored in plain text. I assumed it would be in some ~/.hiddenfile but I didn't find anything after running it, so I'm curious where it ended up.

“Request in unknown place” and “Failed to log in with stored cookies”

Written on 21 September 2020:

Not an issue with cloudyuploader directly but I came to know about it through cloudyuploader.

I tried to send a file to Overcast and saw this:

[WARN] Failed to log in with stored cookies
[WARN] Failed to log in with stored credentials (Failed to login: Request in unknown place https://overcast.fm/podcasts)

I re-entered my email and password for Overcast, and it happened again.

That’s when I went to the Overcast website and app, and realized that Overcast did not recognize me as a paid user.

My subscription renewed 10 days ago.

In my case, I had to do “Restore Purchases” in the Overcast app on iOS. Then the app and website saw me as a paid subscriber and cloudyuploader worked again.

Another user on Twitter has the same issue and said that “Restore Previous Purchases” didn’t help.

I wanted to report this just so people were aware this is going on.

M1 native binary

Go doesn't support darwin/arm64 as a target yet. It's in the beta release go1.16beta1, will try to compile using it.

Welp, it seems broken

Newest version fails for unknown reason during upload to S3... Will look into it ASAP

"Add by URL" support?

I use this tool all the time, and thank you for it. I had previously tried to make this work with shell scripts and curl and, well, let's just say that I never scared anyone into thinking I might succeed.

One new feature that Marco has added to https://overcast.fm/uploads is the ability to add a file directly via URL, without having to upload it from your local computer. Given that most ISPs in the USA have terrible upload speeds, this would be a lovely feature to be able to use.

That being said, I have no idea how difficult it might be to implement, but if you'd even take a look at it, I'd appreciate it.

Many thanks,

~ Tj
