new animals to Shore Shoals: possible 1-of-3 puzzle?

This is tricky. I'd like to have it. But I am not sure how to put it there.

The basic idea is to say, okay, you get the red rose. It doesn't look right, or bloomed, yet. You need to figure out how to do it.

Get 1 of 3 of the kite coot, bright brute and night newt.

Maybe have gold and silver strings on the light lute too. The gold strings are for necessary stuff, the silver for not so necessary.

change rose/lute description on how much is left

define rose-score

define lute-score

let them both blow away when done

merge THINK and VC rbr files to REJECT file, abbreviated REJ

git mv VC REJECT, then git rm THINK.

Do this for VVFF as well if possible. Before closing this, report for VVFF

ATTACK (X) before (X) point-scoring gives error message we don't need

"Rule at address" issues

In both the latest versions of WinFrotz and Filfre as of this writing, almost every move gives me a "rule at address" parser issue. Take heart because it's going to be a great game if it's anything like Quite Queer Night Near!

TESTING: try every single possibility for completing areas in order

hubway.py generates all the possible orders you can complete things in.

We want to add a feature to rbr.py so we will have

shuffle-chunk-start 1

shuffle-chunk-end 1

shuffle-chunk-start 2

shuffle-chunk-end 2

etc., then have a utility that takes these and, well, shuffles them.

This was brought up when I found flipping the order of "right rail" / "right root" in the walkthrough, with HA HALF activated, caused LLJJ to bail before RIGHT RAIL, creating a completely unwinnable game. So it would be nice to see other possiibilities.

HA HALF tweak: what if you guess point you're not ready for?

HA HALF lights up green if you can do that something now.

HA HALF lights up yellow if you will have to wait for that something to have effect.

HA HALF blinks and isn't very light if you find a bonus point.

Port back over to VVFF as well.

I ran into a debug note in THINK concerning THREAD THROWS. I used JJ on the final step of the whale, which gave me the answer and completed the area. In the Hub, I then guessed more rose rhymes; typing THREAD THROWS gave me the usual 'saved to THINK' spiel and this THINK text:

DEBUG note--I forgot to clear THREAD THROWS somehow. It would be nice to know how and when this happened.

cheat-help RUTS: allow for the ability to use the lurking lump at the end (you just need to find a bunch of things) ...

Calculate the table-left of red rose and light lute, add to the room and say "you can do stuff. You probably want to get hints, etc. The last point is meant to be difficult."

memory saving proposal: "if satisf of vr-sad-sunk rule" replaces "if sco-sad-sunk"

This could save 240 * 0x28 byes of zcode memory, which is very valuable.

Mad Monk

I had issues with the Mad Monk because I thought it rhymed with "bonk", "conk", and "honk". Might I suggest adding in an -unk word to the room description to make it clear how it's pronounced?

This would allow people to check for bonus points a bit more.

Remember to put in a gong case and test stuff as well.

cheat-help RUTS: Mad Monk

if not in debug-mode, we may wish to ask the player if they want to try new stuff on the mad monk. This nag appears once.

You'll want to check both GAD GUNK and the score of the table.

Maybe we can define a room as a rootroom that has a side room. So if rootroom is hard-solved and side room of rootroom is, we are more than okay.

The clue should be "twee" instead.

"jet gee" should be bumped to "you can't make people flee that easily. In fact, they may cling tighter."

Leave a note from the BBSS. "I guess I have to help you, and all this information is technically correct. I'm not a mathematical illiterate but stuffy numbers bored me. I really deserve to have a secretary who wrote this."

(Also, remember to note BS = Borat Sagdiyev = Burning Bright Spurning Sprite in the postmortem. Not that Borat is the sprite, but the general serendipitous initials.)
