how to remove this app?

there is no instruction to uninstall Watracker?

stops recording after few hours

Sir you wrote a nice application. Thanks a ton for your effort. I am testing for few days the issue is it stops recording in 2 to 4 hours. I have to relaunch. It says stream stopped etc. My phone is active no network issues. Could you help. Thx

Empty log

Hi everybody, since today I am just getting an empty log (not a single line). It is possible for me, to sign in, but that is all. For example yesterday every thing worked fine. Is anyone else having the same issue or is it just me? :P

can you save the database locally and let it read locally so you can take it wherever you want it? and so do not miss the database when you close chrome?

Today Chrome Extensions has changed: the commands are disabled, so it’s no longer possible to launch WaTracker
Is that the announced deprecation of Chrome Apps?

Next version

First off, I'd like to congratulate this beta version of WaTracker 1.0! I have been testing it out and would recommend some updates/bug fixes for the next version:

• When you hover a contact, along with the time and date, how many seconds online should be recorded along with it
• Real-time graph updating (rather than closing and reopening)
• Option to delete contacts (via checkboxes)
• Compare contacts timeline recordings (via checkboxes near contacts name on the left panel)
• Option to highlight specific contacts on "Online Users" screen so they show as bold/different color

First of all, I'm user very thankful for the awesome work. It's working again today.
It could be really really cool if you can select only the users you want to watch, in a bigger format.
I really look forward to it.

Maybe next I will help to convert to a chrome extension.

Empty Logs, No recording happening

Just for certain contacts

This tool works great, but instead of using all your contacts, it should use a few numbers which don't need to bee on your contacts list (so you could setup like 5 numbers, maybe as an array, and track them)
I would do it myself but I know nearly nothing about javascript.
Could anyone write a version of the tool?

Records stop recording eventually

Hi Andrey,

The issue is that I start recording, and in like in a few minutes it stops working/recording. (I'm sure is not my phone loosing connectivity).
Also sometimes the timeline believes is recording but is not.
Is there any workaround or fix for this?,

Not working with contacts without conversation

Hello!

In the case I don't have an open conversation with the contact, it only records the online users when you have opened the contact on smartphone and/or the program itself (WhatsApp Web). So it does not recognize all the updates when the chat it's not opened or not an active conversation.

I guess, this results from updates from WhatsApp itself? Do you have any idea, what to do to get it work again for contacts with no open conversation?

After the fix the program isnt working for me since today.
im getting the wa_stream_end message and its stops recording also its saying that its still recording in the title. restart wont work.
also the few minutes it is working its only recording the people i have messages with. before i could add other people by only clicking on their profile, now this doenst work anymore.

In your README you say that the extention stores the data locally, can you tell me where it stores the data?

timeline too tiny to see anything

Now that this whole issue has been made popular in the media, I also found your extension here.
But when I open the timeline view it only shows a tiny timeline element inside an otherwise empty window, looking like it has been scaled down. Do you know this issue? Could it be due to a setting in Chrome?

This is not exactly an "issue" but if you are reading this, chances are you came across this project and realized that it no longer works. I will share some alternatives below that I come across in past few months to achieve similar results.

1. whatsapp_stalker by supernova13892/Chrome [Last updated: 3rd of sep.]

This is the closest project to WAT I have come across so far. It does lack visual representation aspect and ability to show who is online at given time though it still logs active times of more than one user at a time in text form and can keep track of more than one person unlike other solutions below. Note this does have a nasty but of clearing its activity logs but still it can be found on console log.

2. WhatsApp online notifier by Benny-/Cross platform [Last updated: 25th of feb. 16]

This isn't necessarily an activity logger, rather it produces an audible alert when the person whose chat is in focus on whatsapp web version. Unfortunately this only works for one contact at a time and this too logs an entry in console log every time the person comes online however the online duration will not be logged.

3. GBWhatsApp by gbmods/Android [Last updated: 10th of Nov.]

If you are on android and still want to keep track of online times of a person, this should do the trick. It only works with one contact at a time I believe.

4. OnlineNotify by Fouad Raheb/iOS Jailbroken [Last updated: 24th of Oct.]

If you are on jailbroken ios device, this is the way to go. With the rumors of cydia going down soon, you better hurry! Oh and apparently this is a paid tweak now.

5. WhatsAllApp by LoranKloeze/Chrome [Last updated: 3rd of oct.]

This isnt an activity logger either however the project is being updated constantly and developer responds quickly. It does have some sort of last seen function built in tho I have not checked latest builds.

6. Chatwatch by unknown/Web [Last updated: unknown]

A paid solution that apparently has similar functionality for this very project.
