anjlab-widgets's Issues

date picker only works for DateTime objects, not Dates

Nice date widget! But I have one problem:

I noticed there's some low-level code in the gem that tries to call time methods on the value without checking to see if the value is a DateTime. If it's a Date, you get this:

private method `hour' called for Mon, 04 Feb 2013:Date

anjlab-widgets (1.0.2) lib/anjlab-widgets/simple_form.rb:48:in input' simple_form (2.1.0) lib/simple_form/wrappers/many.rb:29:inblock in render'
simple_form (2.1.0) lib/simple_form/wrappers/many.rb:27:in each' simple_form (2.1.0) lib/simple_form/wrappers/many.rb:27:inrender'
simple_form (2.1.0) lib/simple_form/wrappers/many.rb:29:in `block in render'
etc...

This happens even if I add as: :date to the input.

I can work around this in a few areas but now I'm coming across problems with some of my model objects that use date types extensively, not datetimes.

How to set local?

Hi nice widget, but i need RU local to user) in aplication.rb i set default local config.i18n.default_locale = :ru, but widget user current :en local why? and how i can user :ru local? thanks

Use time and datepicker to format to strings

It appears that I am not able to use the date and time pickers with a column formated as a :string (varchar). Is this correct, or have I missed how to correctly implement it?

I migrated the db to change from string to datetime, and go through the form, but it seems the values aren't being written to the database.

How to set locale to dd/mm/yy ?

Thanks for this gem - I've spend hours trying to find a date picker that I can get to work with Rails 4 - really impressed that the docs are straight forward and it was so easy.

But I need to change the default date format from mm/dd/yyyy to dd/mm/yyyy ?

TIA, Dave

ps: In date_format.rb in initializers it is set correctly:
Date::DATE_FORMATS[:default] = "%d/%m/%Y" # 2013-11-03

ps2 I'm seeing this in the file anjlabs.widgets.rb - what is the cleanest way to change this?

when :en
"%m/%d/%Y"

Bootstrap 3

Current widget is not fully functional with the new bootstrap release.

Limit date

There is a way to limit a max date to select?

uninitialized constant Anjlab

When I am deploying to my server and it runs the migrate command I receive this error:

uninitialized constant Anjlab
/home/deployer/apps/eventsappdev.us/releases/20130820183312/config/initializers/simple_form.rb:52:in `block in <top (required)>'

here is my simple_form initializer: https://gist.github.com/DevanB/6285398

Locale problem

Hi, How do you configure the locale option to another language. I've added to your code the spanish locale options, but I don't understand how change the configuration to use it. (My default locale is :es)

Thanks in advance.

24 Hour vs. AM/PM

Yury, is there a way to tell the timepicker to use am/pm times instead of 24 hour times?

Multiparameter Assignment Error

I get that dreaded Multiparameter error when I try to edit a record that has been created with the timepicker and datepicker. Any idea how to avoid this? I'm writing the time and date to the database as a string not datetime format, if that helps.

License missing from gemspec

RubyGems.org doesn't report a license for your gem. This is because it is not specified in the gemspec of your last release.

via e.g.

  spec.license = 'MIT'
  # or
  spec.licenses = ['MIT', 'GPL-2']

Including a license in your gemspec is an easy way for rubygems.org and other tools to check how your gem is licensed. As you can imagine, scanning your repository for a LICENSE file or parsing the README, and then attempting to identify the license or licenses is much more difficult and more error prone. So, even for projects that already specify a license, including a license in your gemspec is a good practice. See, for example, how rubygems.org uses the gemspec to display the rails gem license.

There is even a License Finder gem to help companies/individuals ensure all gems they use meet their licensing needs. This tool depends on license information being available in the gemspec. This is an important enough issue that even Bundler now generates gems with a default 'MIT' license.

I hope you'll consider specifying a license in your gemspec. If not, please just close the issue with a nice message. In either case, I'll follow up. Thanks for your time!

Appendix:

If you need help choosing a license (sorry, I haven't checked your readme or looked for a license file), GitHub has created a license picker tool. Code without a license specified defaults to 'All rights reserved'-- denying others all rights to use of the code.
Here's a list of the license names I've found and their frequencies

p.s. In case you're wondering how I found you and why I made this issue, it's because I'm collecting stats on gems (I was originally looking for download data) and decided to collect license metadata,too, and make issues for gemspecs not specifying a license as a public service :). See the previous link or my blog post about this project for more information.
