The API allows manually editing biome and custom tiles.

Perhaps there should be an Atlas Editor available to a restricted group of users (i.e. adventure map makers), where you would be able to make the player icon invisible, "lock" the atlas so that it doesn't grow, modify individual tiles etc

Admins must have the ability to place and delete global markers, and there is a list of special marker icons not available to ordinary players
