yes, I think we can do something for you soon.

hopefully we can synchronize this with a couple of papers that should be
settled in the next couple of weeks

okay, now might be a good time for a new ants release following on the
heels of the latest itk release and our various frontiers publications

I would like to get the documentation ants PDF updated before doing this.

does anyone have thoughts or requests for this release?

Not really sure if it is a real need for others as well, but I think there
won't be any harm in expressing this:

When it comes to hypointense lesions of T1-weighted scans, lesion filling
is a real need for special patient populations. This was addressed last
year in FSL with a script that takes lesion maps and fills inside the
lesions with neighboring "normal" voxels. I have a fairly simple script for
my personal usage in ANTsR
https://github.com/armaneshaghi/rlesfill/blob/master/lesion_filling.R (this
needs a lot of refinement). Really happy to work on this as part of next
release if there is a real interest in it.

hi arman - have you worked further on this? am curious about what you have found ....

from ants.

armaneshaghi avatar armaneshaghi commented on May 24, 2024

Hi Brian, the best and the newest is actually here http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2213158214001259

My code above is a real mess which works for me, however, I did not receive any feedback at the time to work on this further to make it re-usable for others, but if you think that it could be a worthwhile PR, I could do this inside ITK and ANTs (instead of ANTsR).

hi arman - @dorianps might be able to contribute to this ... at least he can test the ANTsR version and get back to you ...

github ate my last email reply again...

Probably need itk 4.7 , possibly development itk ....

ah -- the no go for debian folks atm :-/

I have filed a bug report to seek 4.7 packaged for Debian (experimental) and we might then provide backports from neurodebian.

could someone check if it is at least compatible with it and doesn't require development version?

OK ... iterate a couple more times and this should be worked out for the
longer term.

not sure if I grasped exactly what was the "this" someone should iterate and then it must be worked out: emails to github or builds for debian ;-)
