Recommended Analysis

• Which product categories drive the biggest profits? Is this the same across store locations?
• Can you find any seasonal trends or patterns in the sales data?
• Are sales being lost with out-of-stock products at certain locations?
• How much money is tied up in inventory at the toy stores? How long will it last?

Jordan & LeBron Career Stats

Career game-level data for Michael Jordan and LeBron James (through October 2020) during the regular season and playoffs, including date, age, team, minutes played, and assorted stats.

Recommended Analysis

• How do their regular season per game and total stats compare? What about their playoff stats?
• At what age did each player have their highest scoring season?
• How does their distribution of points scored per game compare?
• How have their win percentages trended by season? Who has a better win percentage in the playoffs?

2015 New Year's Eve resolutions tweets. Each record represents a single tweet and contains information about the date & time, geographic location, original text, and resolution category of the tweet.

Recommended Analysis

• What is the most popular resolution category? Least popular?
• Which resolution category was retweeted the most? Least?
• Using the tweet_created field, and rounding to the nearest hour, what was the most popular hour of day to tweet? How many resolutions were tweeted?
• Using a map visual, what U.S. State tweeted the highest number of NYE resolutions?
• Which channels are underperforming?

NYC Traffic Accidents

Motor vehicle collisions reported by the New York City Police Department from January-August 2020. Each record represents an individual collision, including the date, time and location of the accident (borough, zip code, street name, latitude/longitude), vehicles and victims involved, and contributing factors.

Recommended Analysis

• Compare the % of total accidents by month. Do you notice any seasonal patterns?
• Break down accident frequency by day of week and hour of day. Based on this data, when do accidents occur most frequently?
• On which particular street were the most accidents reported? What does that represent as a % of all reported accidents?
• What was the most common contributing factor for the accidents reported in this sample (based on Vehicle 1)? What about for fatal accidents specifically?
