krishiconnect's Issues

File Structure Optimization in Codebase

The current file structure in our open-source organization's codebase lacks organization, hindering code readability and maintenance. To enhance efficiency, we propose structuring files into distinct folders: one for HTML files, one for CSS files (excluding index.css), one for JavaScript files (excluding index.js), and a folder for images. This approach streamlines navigation and upkeep, fostering better code management. please assign this issue to me, i can work on this issue and resolve it as soon as possible.

[Feature]: Develop Service page

Description:
This pull request introduces a new feature to KrishiConnect that enhances our commitment to supporting farmers by offering soil-testing and water-testing services. These services aim to empower farmers with valuable insights into the health and quality of their agricultural resources, ultimately helping them optimize their farming practices and increase production.

Changes:

New Page Addition: Added a new page to the KrishiConnect website titled "Soil & Water Testing Services."
Page Content: Included detailed information about the soil-testing and water-testing services offered, highlighting their importance for farmers and the benefits they provide.
Service Descriptions: Provided descriptions of both soil-testing and water-testing services, outlining the parameters tested and the insights provided to farmers.
Benefits Section: Included a section highlighting the benefits of utilizing these services, such as improved crop yields, resource optimization, and sustainable farming practices.
Call-to-Action: Added a call-to-action section encouraging farmers to take advantage of these services and providing a link to contact our team for more information or to schedule testing.

Missing Code of Conduct File in Repository

Currently, the repository lacks a Code of Conduct file, which is an essential component for fostering a healthy and inclusive open-source community. A Code of Conduct serves as a guideline for expected behavior, ensuring that contributors and participants feel safe, respected, and valued within our community space.

Kindly assign me this issue, so i can work towards it under GSSOC 24

Girlscript Summer of Code Introduction/Tracking

👋 Hi @Anushkabh ,

I am Sanjay, program Manager Girlscript Summer of Code. I'll be collaborating with you on preparing your repo for GSSoC'24 Program

Why are these changes required?
After Analysing last year's contributions and feedback it would be great for students to have a couple of standard readme files on the repo to understand what the project is all about and some issues detailing what they can contribute. This will help you to see increased engagement in your repository as well.

As mentioned students get a chance to learn step by step, how to build this project as well as invite mentors to collaborate and add features to this repo. I will generate issues, which will provide guidance on how to prepare your repo for Girlscript summer of code 2024 on 10th May.

This issue will serve as a tracking issue to track all issues related to GSSoC'24. I recommend creating a new branch for every issue and opening a pull request to track changes so we can effectively collaborate with each other and merge changes when you and I feel like those changes are ready to be merged on your primary branch.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to leave a comment on this issue or any of the other issues that are generated.

I look forward to working with you :octocat:

[FEAT]: Create Issue forms and make the issue options more visually appealing

Additional context (optional )
Will add issue forms to the respective issues to make it easier for the contributor to raise it.
Here is an example of how a Bug Issue Form will look like 👇

Add issues

As the maintainer of a Collaborate repo, keeping Issues up-to-date will help the student community understand what they can do to contribute. Issues should vary by the easy (update documentation) to the difficult (add a new feature). The more involved you are, the more opportunities there are to collaborate.

Recommendations:

Add issues of varying difficulty to the repo often. you can add the tag GSSoC'24, good first issue etc.
Generate issues even if you plan on solving them, so the repository appears as active.
Contribute/commit often to the repo so it does not go stale.

Add Topics

In GSSoC'24, GitHub Topics will help the discoverability of your project.

I see that you already have great topics on your repository!
I would recommend adding the name of the company like the software you use to build like "vs-code, ghdesktop" to improve your discoverability.

If you are happy with the topics you have, feel free to close this issue. 👍

Interactivity Inhencement & Hover Over BUY, Harvest, Delivery ICON

hi @Anushkabh I submit to a hover effect over the BUY, HARVEST, DELIVERY ICON,

When the user hovers over them, the blank part on the icon gets filled and the filled part (before) gets blank, it will give a really soothing experience to the users, and it will make the landing page more interactive.

I can work on this and make this happen using CSS or Figma, Please assign me this task.

Hover Effect On Shop Now Button

Dear @Anushkabh I am Joydeep Saha, a Contributor from GSOC '24,

To enhance the user experience, I suggest adding a hover effect to the SHOP NOW button, and to the buttons below on the categories section, I can change the colour and the background colour upon hover, which suits the overall theme and set of the website.

I would be glad if I could be chosen to do this

Issue at List of products in sellers section

Screenshot 2024-05-09 at 3 02 18 PM

Issue Description:

When submitting without entering any information in the input boxes provided at the "List your products here" section, an alert pops up erroneously stating that the product has been added. This behavior misleads users into believing that a product has been successfully added when it hasn't.

Proposed Solution:

To rectify this issue, we need to implement validation checks before allowing submission. The system should prompt users to fill in the required fields and select the appropriate option in the section, if they attempt to submit without providing necessary information.

I willing to solve this issue . Please assign this issue to me

Adding Hovering Effect to the Cards

Hello @Anushkabh ,
I wanted to solve an enhancement issue for this page by adding hover effects for all the card components in the Shop Page on the webpage, excluding the footer. Additionally, i wanted to refactor some CSS of the cards by adding borders to improve readability and maintain consistency.

image
This is the reference image I would like to attach for the cards i want to apply the hovering and make it look proper

Can you please assign me this issue, I'd be delighted to work on this.
Thank You.

Make README.md visualisable with pictures and other related stuff

Hey @Anushkabh , I want to say that your README.md file is so short that it explains the generalised solution of your wonderful idea, and if you assign me the issue, I will try to improve it by involving the tech stack and making it easier to read through some visuals of the website.

As it is my first contribution towards opensource, if you assign me this issue , it will help me to be as the first step towards my career in open source.

The below image is just basic structure. I will make it more classified so that it is easy to understand.

Feat: Logo is not properly visible

As I am going through the website, I found that the logo of KrishiConnect is not properly visible as it is very small in size.
We can make it a bit bigger in size and a little more vibrant so that it can impact the users more.

I would like to work on this issue. Kindly allow me by assigning it under gssoc'24 label.

FAQ Section Sequencing Issue

The FAQ section on our open-source organization's website displays questions in a disordered sequence (e.g., 1, 3, 4, 5, 6,12,14,15,16,19,22,24). This disrupts user experience and requires reorganization for clarity. please assign this issue to me, i would love to resolve this issue

Add templates for issues

Issue templates are very helpful for a collaboration repo. When users identify a bug or want to add a new feature, you can provide templates so you can collect all the pertinent information you need to fix a bug or add a new feature.

We recommend creating a “Report Bug” and “Feature Request” issue template.
you can refer this: https://docs.github.com/en/communities/using-templates-to-encourage-useful-issues-and-pull-requests/configuring-issue-templates-for-your-repository

Some suggested prompts/questions you can add to a “Report Bug” template are:

Briefly describe the bug
What is the expected behavior?
Please provide step by step instructions on how to reproduce the bug
Some suggested prompts/questions you can add to a “Feature Request” issue template are:

Briefly describe your feature request
What problem is this feature trying to solve?
How do we know when the feature is complete?

Learn.md

Learn repos should have a LEARN.md file to teach student how to build your project step by step. You can explain how to build your project with text, code snippets, images, or even short (5 minute) long video lessons. As the maintainer of a Learn repo, the LEARN.md file requires you to think critically about how to explain the building of your project and how to also make it engaging. We don't expect you to be an expert teacher, but we would like you to reflect on how difficult it was to get to your level of knowledge, and then provide friendly guidance to help other students to learn.
