Swift 4 / iOS 11 Not getting back camera

guard let captureDevice = deviceDiscoverySession.devices.first else {
            print("Failed to get the camera device")
            return
        }

This line fails every time. Tried in my own project as well as the sample project.

Doesn't ask for permission to access camera either.

Trying to dismiss the subview on QRScan

Can you please help me resolve the issue, I'm unable to dismiss the subview after the scan is done to perform other action from the view controller

Doesn't Work with Swift 4

If you build this after switching the Swift version to 4 and updating the code with using the built in Fix-It buttons in Xcode 9 beta it doesn't work. If you don't make any changes and run it as Swift 3.2 in Xcode 9 beta 1 it works, but changing to Swift 4 makes it so it never finds a barcode.

Capture Session is nil when trying to initilize the AVCaptureVideoPreviewLayer

Hello, I'm new to swift and I'm trying to use the code to implement a QR code scanner. When I try to start my scanner application it throws a fatal error error when executing this line

 videoPreviewLayer = AVCaptureVideoPreviewLayer(session: captureSession)

Saving video in CoreData or iCloud

Is there anyone who knows how to save video in CoreData or iCloud? I like to enhance the FoodPin app with the choice of capturing video. I built the video camera app of the Intermediate iOS 12 Programming Swift book of Simon NG and incorporate the video camera into the FoodPin app.
