marauders-map's Issues

[Idea] Use Mobile Data?

Could we just spoof the request headers and grab the mobile data which would contain the location information?

It's half tempting to sniff the network and see if I could grab the info from a mobile phone's data, but I'm sure it's secure

Re-invent

How about re-inventing this extension and just gather all friends official public location? That is, scan your friend list and extract everyone's hometown and then display it on a map or something? This functionality existed in Facebook itself years ago but has since disappeared.

Mobile version

Does the map work on the mobile version of facebook?. If yes then what is the procedure to use it in smart phones

Question about map background layer

Could be offtopic, but I hope somebody will help me. If I go to facebook.com/messages, map opens automatically in down-left corner on a position somewhere in Atlantic ocean with default zoom. But I live on the other side of the world and all my friends are less than 50 km far from me. How could I set default position and zoom in Mapbox map? (I tried some possibilities and googled a lot, but without any result)

BTW thank you, the author of this extension, for this awesome work. I know it looks like it will die in a few days, but I totally love this 2nd dimension of the text location notification in fb chat (which nobody reads at all I think)...

does this still function?

does the work around still function for this app?

api request and the map is working on the fb messages page - but cycling to messages that I know have been sent via mobile messenger with location set to 'on' - doesnt show the location on the map.

thanks in advance

Marauder’s Map is now broken

The way the app works — if you scroll up to an old message that was sent using messenger with location turned on, it should turn up on the map. But currently it’s not, even with location turned on. I just confirmed it by having a friend send me a message with location turned on. So either Facebook’s changed the location retrieval mechanism, or they’ve put a system-wide blanket on location services.

Marauder’s Map is now broken.

The extension ID varies —

On my computer, it’s pdhbapcddlcfjjcpichhiiofeghokjcb
In general, you can see the id by going to the extension page in settings.

MapBox token is invalid

Just installed this by curiousity only to find it broken. Pulled up the dev console in chrome and ffound the MapBox token to be broken. The response json is the following:

{"message":"Not Authorized - Invalid Token"}

Map terrain is not shown

Hi...
While using "Marauders Map" ...

Ubuntu Linux 14.04
Chromium Version 41.0.2272.76 OR Chrome Version 43.0.2357.81 (64-bit)

...map terrain is not shown.
I could see my contact avatars, but the map background is just "grey".

Regards
