arfc.github.io's Issues

Add ANS Student Conference Presentation to the Website

Hi Louis, I'd love to highlight your presentation on the website, since it's fairly related to ARFC work. Since this was technically related to your independent study project, you certainly don't have to -- this issue is optional. However, it's nice to have a record of your accomplishments somewhere on the internet. Can you please add your ANS student conference presentation to the website in the presentations section?

Andrei Internship Prep

  • fill out ORNL, ANL, and INL generic applications for Summer 2018 (if they're open)
  • update CV and either send it to @katyhuff or upload it somewhere on the web and let me know the link.
  • look for papers related to MPACT MSR development.

After these things are done, remind katy to send email introductions.

Create Repository for Pyroprocessing Archetype

Start with cycstub instructions OR start with separations facility and create your own archetype with details of pyroprocessing. Contemplate signatures and observables that you'll want to write to the output database.

End-of-Semester Individual Meeting

Please schedule an end-of-semester individual meeting with me in the month of December. It should last no less than 1 hour. https://katyhuff.youcanbook.me

Please also send via email at least a few paragraphs (up to one page) summarizing your progress this semester, your plan for next semester, your projected timeline to graduation (e.g. a GANTT chart), and any questions or concerns that you'd like to address in our meeting.

Presentation and Poster Audit

Hi Folks,
I would like you all to think about any presentations or posters that you have presented while working with ARFC. Are there any that have not made it onto the presentations section of the website? Think back to CNEC/CVT workshops, IHLRWM, Blue Waters, etc. Many of you won't have any -- as you are new or haven't had an opportunity yet. Otherwise, please make a PR adding those presentations (being careful to place your presentation in appropriate chronological position in _data/presentations.yml). Once you are confident that the website is up to date regarding your posters and presentations (even if you had none) please check off your name below:

(as you do this, please make sure these items have also been added to zotero in the appropriate folder within group-pubs)

Add ANS MSBR presentations to website

This issue can be closed when a PR has been merged which does the following:

  • pdfs for both talks have been added to the source branch. They should be at "pres/2017-10-30-online.pdf" and "pres/2017-10-31-full-core.pdf"
  • thumbnail images for each have been added to "img/pres/2017-10-30-online.png" and "img/pres/2017-10-31-full-core.png" respectively
  • metadata for each have been added to _data/presentations.yml

Greeted with a lot of empty space when navigating to site

Observed with both Firefox and Chromium: upon initially opening web-pages, virtually no content appears on the screen, as observed in the attached screen shot. This is true for the home page, research page, people page, etc. Perhaps it would be nice (if possible) to move content up the page so that the navigator gets to see a healthy amount before s/he even starts scrolling. Just seems currently like there's a lot of initially empty, under-utilized space. I can listen to counter-arguments though!

Create README template for ARFC Box

This repository's issues are reserved for feature requests, and bug reports, and questions.

I'm submitting a ...

  • feature request

Expected Behavior

We need a template for READMEs in Box.
It should give a notion of all the metadata that someone should fill out when they're putting a dataset onto Box in the arfc-shared folder. Things like: who created it, when, why, what scripts were involved, what revision of which repository might be associated with this data, etc.

Actual Behavior

We don't have a template, or really readmes at all.

How can this issue be closed?

This issue can be closed when a readme metadata template has been created and is available on box. Also, ideally, there should be a guide.

Add talk to presentations on the website

This issue can be closed when a PR has been merged which does the following:

  • a pdf of the talk slides has been added to the source branch. It should be at "pres/2017-10-31-synergistic.pdf"

research/software missing

The software part of research in the website is missing..?

I think it could be fixed by changing research/other.md to software.md

I would've made a PR but I wasn't sure.. do feel free to shoot me down (figure of speech) if I'm wrong.

Add ANS/IHLRWM presentation to website

image
These two entries in the presentations section are missing slides. The placeholder links assumed a gh-pages branch at github.com/arfc/YYYY-FirstWordOfTitle-location .

Please

  1. commit
  2. and push one or two pdfs (your presentation slides) to the img/pres/ directory. Please use meaningful names like 2017-benefits-ihlrwm.pdf or 2017-benefits-stuconf.pdf
  3. edit _data/presentations.yml to replace the placeholder links with links to your pdf (./img/pres/2017-benefits-ihlrwm.pdf)

Thanks!

  • The computer may have additional memory sticks that may need to be installed... look for them in the box. If they exist, perhaps you can install them. If that's a challenge, ask the grad students to help.
  • Install Ubuntu if it's not installed. (upgrade ubuntu if it is already installed)
  • Create an admin account
  • From this admin account, create an account for yourself

For you, I think this needs to include a discussion of the review of your prelim draft - which is upcoming, I think?

Try out installing Cyclus+ (from source)

Install Cyclus, Cycamore, and Cymetric. http://fuelcycle.org/

If you run into issues, (first, try the things in this list, except contacting katy) consider:

  • ask the Cyclus grad students in 131 CAB if they know what's going on
  • posting them as new issues in the cyclus/cycamore/cycmetric repository
  • contacting the cyclus-users googlegroup listhost
  • contacting the cyclus-dev googlegroup listhost

reported issue

Reported via email by @skc222

I was working on the website but stuck with this error and trying to figure it out since yesterday:
Liquid Exception: Liquid syntax error (line 37): Variable '{{PyNE}' was not properly terminated with regexp: /\}\}/ in /_layouts/publications.html
jekyll 3.4.3 | Error: Liquid syntax error (line 37): Variable '{{PyNE}' was not properly terminated with regexp: /\}\}/

First I thought I did some mistake in editing but even if I just clone and run the command 'jekyll serve' still getting the same error.
I know it is not worth asking but still did you come across with this kinda error before?
