why doesn't the "choose a file" text open the open dialog?

Hexadecimal comparison shouldn't be case sensitive

The output is hexadecimal, and hexadecimal is case insensitive. So 1A2B3C4D and 1a2b3c4d won't match, even though they are identical in hexadecimal.

Missing Desktop Icon

AppCenter requires the Icon to be set in the desktop file.
It must match com.github.artemanufrij.hashit.

Package as Flatpak for elementary OS 6

As you might have heard, AppCenter is going Flatpak! For elementary OS 6, we will not longer be accepting Debian packaging, so your app will need to be updated.

We have documentation on our developer guide for writing your Flatpak manifest here: https://docs.elementary.io/develop/writing-apps/our-first-app/packaging#flatpak-manifest

Also, in case you missed it, elementary OS 6 beta 2 is now available. This is a great time to get your app packaged up as Flatpak and test that everything is working before the final release. AppCenter submission for OS 6 will be open soon, so don't delay :)

Copy hash while hash is calculating

There are small bug. I can copy value of hash field when it doesn't exist

Doesn't remember the last hash algorithm used

If for example, I pick MD5 and close the application, when I re-open it, it goes back to using SHA256

Appstream tests fail

AppCenter ran a bunch of tests on your appstream file. These are the results.

are fixed in your code for future releases.

Contractor for all files

I think, you should changes MIME in contractor file so that users can check hash of all types of files.

It would be nice if I'll be can select and copy resulting hash

why is there a dropdown?

you could simplify the code and UI by just printing all the different hashes at once.

Context menu in File browser translatable?

I think the menu entry in file browser should be translatable...is this possible?
I did not find the string in .po-file and do not know how to add it :/
