A small tool for randomly selecting a student within a specified collection without allowing repetition. Originally intended for @mjmuir to use in class when choosing which student to present their answers, as to not randomly select the same student twice.

Here's an example of how it looks in action:

How to use:

Begin by inserting the github handles of all 13 total students through the input field. Left click to check/uncheck the checkboxes to mark whether the students are present or not. Right click to remove a handle. Increment the week number by left clicking the counter, decrement it by right clicking it.

After you've clicked "Select a student", the output will be shown to the right of the button with a link to that student's repo for the current week.

Students already selected are added to the left list, and cannot be selected again. Left click these to remove them from that list.

Handles and week number is stored in a cookie, no need to reenter the information every övning, all you need to do is check which students are present!

random's Issues

Enhancement: Bootstrapping

Bootstrapping or implementing media queries would be good, since that would enhance the cross-device experience, mainly on mobile.

Remodel javascript

Right now it's just a mess.

Add some kind of information on how to use the interface

Currently there are some things not particularly obvious, like right clicking to remove handles, and using the week counter.

Remove and add new numbers to the list of disallowed numbers

If a new person enters or leaves the room, the current implementation has no way to combat that.

Enhancement: Names

Being able to assign a name to a number would be a nice feature. The data could be saved in cookies, to avoid re-entering the entire list every time. 💭

Make css less messy

Classes exist for a reason

Enhancement: Add animations

This would just be cool. 😄 Instead of a number just appearing, some cool animations could run first. Think CS:GO case opening or something along those lines 💭

Style: Follow a style guide.

This is really optional, but I like to use a style guide to make my code more concise. I like to use the google one. As it is right now, the HTML is fine, the JS is alright, but the CSS could use some work. 😇
