Cosmic Coding: An Introduction to APIs and React

Getting Started

First, check that you have the proper prerequisites:

• VSCode
• Git or Github for Desktop
• Node.js and npm
• Live Server extension for VSCode

Next, run the following commands in your project directory using command prompt:

1. To install the packages and create your package-lock.json: npm install
2. To start up the app: npm start

A window will pop up in your browser with the link: http://localhost:3000. Alternatively, copy and paste the link to see it in your browser.

Because of the VSCode extension, every time you save a file, it will reload the page with your new changes.

Aaaaaaaaand you're done! Easy as pie.

➡️ To stop the program, in the same command prompt you started the program, go Ctrl + c and Y and the program will quit.
