High CPU usage

Description

The background is leading to high CPU usage and is slowing down user's computer/browser.

Possible Fix

Maybe try out different themes that aren't as CPU intensive or figure out a more efficient method to achieve the intended effect of the connect dots theme.

Make Quotes Dynamic

Update Quotes (at least) Daily

• update the quotes based on either the quote of the day or multiple random quotes a day
• Use api like https://theysaidso.com/api/ for additional quotes

Possible Error/Fix

• Multiple of the same quotes may be in the database
• Be sure to check database for quote before storing a new one
• Consider creating a map to hold quotes and compare

Dark Themes

Description

I just found out your tab and I freaking love it. Although, I would love to see a dark theme for the extension. Please provide some more themes in the dark version too, like dark, darker and darkest. It would be really amazing.

Description

It gets kinda annoying to see grammatical errors or typos in the quotes. Ruins good vides.

Implement a feature to detected errors and flag them for a human (the developer) to fix.

Description

User requested: Availability requested in Spanish, Portuguese, and Hindi.

The quotes can either be translated into different languages on the fly or we can have a separate database with quotes in different languages. The second option may be preferred as somethings meaning may not translate to give the intended effect.

The extension remains the same across the board. You can't add favorites or see recently visited tabs.

Reduce refresh flicker

Description

I sometimes feel like refreshing the tab multiple times to read new quotes and get myself going. I can see a really weird screen flicker inside the tab when I keep refreshing it.

I would suggest that instead of generating whole connect dots background everytime tab is refreshed, just refresh the quote text field.

Also, I have noticed other people requesting various features like favorites and bookmarks. But, in my opinion, adding these will take away from the extension what seem to be its most important attribute that is speed. Currently, the extension is really fast. I don't know how much the open/refresh speed will be affected. I would suggest that whatever feature you add should also have an option to disable it so as to maintain loading/refresh times.

Cookies need to stay longer

The cookies for the theme are getting deleted very soon and the user preference for the theme gets deleted.

Add ability to upload a custom picture as background
