Hi @irthomasthomas! Thanks for the questions and interest.

I realized that replacing "C-" with "Ctrl+" and "M-" with "Alt+" in the manual improved my reading and comprehension significantly.

This is an issue that we have been thinking about for a while and we'll fix it soon (#3027).

  1. Do you know any good videos showing Nyxt in action?

We have animated PNGs at https://nyxt.atlas.engineer/. You have find some videos about Nyxt on YouTube done by enthusiasts, who are not part of the Nyxt team.

2. Can I disable command prediction?

You'd need to write your own version of execute-command, where you'd get rid of its predicted-command-source. May I ask why you'd like to disable it?

What's the difference between tags and keywords?

In which context? Bookmarks? Tags are just a way to categorize them.

5. Can I disable the prompt for tags and keywords?

Could you explain in more detail?

6. I want to use Nyxt like an IDE with custom panels for a Linux terminal, chat conversations about the buffer, and an editor for creating rules to change the buffer content.

Take a look at repl-mode and notice that you can run shell commands.

7. In the meantime, I would like to pipe some kind of buffer object to a shell script for processing, like creating a JSON object with URL, title, domain, and page HTML. Is that possible?

I don't see why not. If you're a programmer and are eager to learn some Common Lisp, your imagination is the limit.

Hope this helps.

It would be really cool just to see some videos of you demonstrating your favourite features.

My thinking was that it takes up about half the pane and leaves little room for the main command list. But maybe it will become more useful as I use it more

Bookmarking. It asks for you to pick Keywords and Tags. Unless keywords are meant to be auto-generated? In any case, I don't want to be prompted for either, I just want to bookmark and then see some confirmation of that. Later I will auto-tag them.

Ok, from what I had read, I thought it only accepted a limited number of shell commands, but that's not true now?

I must confess I have always had extreme difficulty parsing lisp. But maybe I have been reading the wrong code. Do you know of any particularly readable examples of lisp I can look at?

Thanks a lot

If you're looking for an introductory book then I'd recommend Practical Common Lisp.

@irthomasthomas start Nyxt, Control-Space, type "repl", hit Enter, click "Add a Cell" with the mouse, hit Enter, type the shell command and click "Eval". This should get you started.
