Yeah, you have to have Python 2.7 installed - it's a requirement for node-gyp. Feel free to create a PR that updates the documentation!

@50Wliu Why does this require node-gyp? I thought that was only used to build node native add-ons not run them once they have been built. Or is it only required to pull it down from NPM and then you can use it without Python being needed.

@iamdriz Correct. node-keytar contains native files, though, and in order to install keytar you'll need to build those native files which requires node-gyp.

@50Wliu So once I've got the module in my app I won't need Python on the machine I run the app on?
from node-keytar.
I'm pretty sure you don't.

@50Wliu Installed Python and looked to be working when I tried to install the module again, but then it failed. Am I missing something else?

@50Wliu Turns out you also need to install Visual Studio
from node-keytar.
@iamdriz Sorry, I didn't see your other comment :(.
The requirements for running node-gyp are here: https://github.com/nodejs/node-gyp#installation (just skip to the Windows section).

Any solution for your error? @50Wliu . I have installed VS15, still showing the same error
from node-keytar.
