Is there a way to generate code to embed that reformated gdoc code in a wordpress post (or elsewhere)? thanks so much for your this code!! josh
Hello!
I just came across gdoc.pub and it is exactly what I was looking for! I'm trying to use it to embed a google doc into a (new) Google Site. Right now, I've tried using the URL first given, gdoc.pub/ and gdoc.pub//raw. Both do nothing. Is there a different way to go about embedding into the new Google Sites?
Thanks!
gdoc.pub link was working, now when I click on the hyperlink on our website, the page opens and just has the word "found" in the upper left-hand corner.
Hi augnustin, I saw a similar issue to #49. Also read the link you posted on the optimal reading length.
We had great readability for this recipe doc we use ever since we were using your service. Since a few days we saw these big white spaces appear in the margins. This is only on mobile, the doc still works great on my laptop.
This is how it looked before:
Thanks for your work making the gdoc publisher! Can you/will you fix this issue?
Some fonts don't work.
Eg. Proxima Nova returns a 403 https://themes.googleusercontent.com/fonts/css?kit=3qINvnjb346LubKDfLRn69t6G6Z1RrRfgULZ1AHo7mPOfsfM6rvuuu7h1pY3r_-A
Is it possible for the published Doc to display the Doc's background color?
Your Google docs publisher doesn't work
Is there a trick to this to make it work?
When viewing the published document on mobile (android), the text touches the edge of the screen.
I started and added my first google doc and it worked.
I added this one and it does not show. What am I doing wrong?
https://gdoc.pub/doc/1lbZEUikAlrGYcPHJBYIj7nwAGIbyvtpMKA2hZIJNH64#heading=h.do76ppl3thdt
Currently, a centered section of page works fine, but centering does not carry over to centering a table in a page.
Example here:
https://gdoc.pub/doc/e/2PACX-1vRHSjmaM-DWX-DEm05D55gWs_xzaRpa1lNjvKIgFL9o-5aOq1PCrZ3ogtRqyWBjapfa1iK_i4PiibRv
Currently, I can fix it on the page with the dev tools using this in the table properties:
style="margin-left: auto; margin-right:auto;"
I'm not sure if there's a way to incorporate a change to the CSS based upon the centering of the element directly above the table or not. (Or what the best approach would be here.)
Side note: I love this publisher! Many thanks for sharing it!
Hello! Unfortunately the text is cut off and the formatting is not preserved. See images of how it looks in the editing window vs published with your service. Is there a way to fix this? If so, I'd love to learn how. If not, I would like to un-publish this so it cannot be found in this state. Thank you!
I tried
<gdoc.pub link>#bookmark=id.8mgz4l4x3h0t
and
<gdoc.pub link>#id.8mgz4l4x3h0t
but neither of them goes to my anchor. I confirmed that the anchor exists and is spelled correctly. I put the anchor in by means of the insert/bookmark capabilities in google docs.
I confirmed that this
#id.8mgz4l4x3h0t
does take me to my anchor. It just looks crappy because it doesn't have your software displaying it... :-)
If you have a page with a link to another published doc, the page is not aware of the change and does not resize the containing document appropriately.
So if the second doc you navigate to is larger than the first one, you get a scrollbar inside the iframe (I haven't had a chance to look a the source... I assume it is using a iframes), as well as the scrollbar for the master document that you had from the first doc you loaded.
Hi this works a treat but when publishing for viewing on a mobile it becomes a bit of a black art trying to get it to fill the screen .. to 100% is there a way around this?
here is the link
I need to access the URL with https.
Until recent, the generated link (HTTP://gdoc...) was accessible also by HTTPs.
Now it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't
Please assist,
Thanks
To Whom It May Concern:
I'm noticing large margins on the left and right sides of the published document. These margins are not as large as those when the Google Doc is published straight to the web, however, the gDoc Published document is showing large margins that are not part of the original document's contents.
Thank you,
-Brandon
Hello everyone!
Hope all is doing great!
We just used this website to publish a Google Document since it doesn't change any formatting and we really like it.
However we have an issue with sharing the link using Beacons. Whenever we share the published link using a Beacon the <title/> shows up.
Is there a way to have that removed?
You can see a sample screenshot at https://www.screencast.com/t/99q7dUPY
Any response will be appreciated.
I had a similar problems with GD itself putting a header:
"index.html"
and footer:
"Published by Google Drive–Report Abuse–Updated automatically every 5 minutes"
on:

Hi google sheets introduction - works brilliantly, however, is there a workaround so that if frozen rows are used in the original google sheet this can be carried across as well?
right to left text still appear left to right after publishing
Hello and congrats for your nice work.
I tested your publish solution with some personal files and it worked like a charm, but then I tried to use it in a project I am helping with and it either gives "Internal Server Error " or just says "Found" but doesn't display the anything more.
The link I I was working with was
but there are several docs showing one of the messages I wrote above.
I don't know whether the links inside the docs could cause the result most of the ones I used contain links.
I have deliberately kept this lean
[https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1l3_QEkWcvRhQQn4ieYv3Mxbx6Pk3nMuhKx2bwQGUJcg/edit?usp=sharing]
so published under 30000 cells
27 tabs
Last night it worked .. now it is saying document too big ...
confused!?!
I'm using the latest IOS and when I bring I up the rendered page the mailto link doesn't work. It does work when I click the link to go to the original Google Doc. And it does work on the desktop version.
Here's the link: https://gdoc.pub/doc/e/2PACX-1vR6IoPrHGNXyHa2QFwux56dak3_JDdVAiRHltDbkFa_dzooBHMaCjzY4f1J6n6MH__FingsuaxiEQ71
Any help would be appreciated.
When I try to publish my doc, it opens up a webpage with plain text saying Cannot GET
followed by my doc's url. It won't publish at all so far, and I've tried with a few documents without any success.
Hi have used your solution a number of time .. all working well
however when I posted this link
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vSWV5kubQbV4cfGVJmc3M4li9XtokQRcqXC27uMZGVLf4qycJyIG-67tGthUrBZZULJyjDyYQNvudPo/pubhtml
and then copied the subsequent link
I was facing this issue with google docs and now with gdoc.pub too. In my document, the images are not wrapping in the text to look neat and formated.
Not a code issue but wanted to make sure you were aware. When a user tries to access https://gdocs.pub they're alerted that this is a known malicious site and warned to stay away. You can check their database here:
https://www.trustedsource.org/en/feedback/url
and see that it's listed as a phishing site.
When I paste my public doc url, all I see is "Found" at the top left corner and none of my content. This looks pretty simple to use, but I can't get it to work. Could someone please help me out :)
After pasting my URL into the "Publish your doc right now" field, the copied link results in 'Not found'.
The URL is https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Z1atNALhSxbwLVdop0URfsyG74Bqp8X8J0dx5fM5OkY/pub
Thanks,
Dan
There seems to be a issue with documents having bookmarks. While the page is loading, the page scrolls down automatically to the bookmark. After which, the scroll bar does not respond. The page stays fixed at that bookmark. I tested this for both Chrome and Firefox, and it doesn't seem to be a browser issue.
On chrome mobile, however, I am able to scroll out of the bookmark, though while on reload, the page again scrolls down automatically to that bookmark.
Noticed that in tables and in Headers

Great Project. Thanks!
For long documents that need a table of contents, it would be great if the TOC floated to one side of the main text (and even stayed visible during scrolling)
To Whom It May Concern:
I'm an educator and know zero about coding.
I use gDocs to create a lot of content for my students. Recently, Google made some type of change where the gDoc when published as a webpage has very large margins on the left and right side of the webpage and I cannot figure out how to remove them.
I then found this gDoc Publisher site and like how it retains nearly all formatting from the original gDoc when published as a webpage. However, I recently discovered a problem. The problem I found is that gDoc Publisher will not show any formulas from the original gDoc created using the Google Equation Editor.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help!

I have a header which I have removed spacing before and after the paragraphs inside and the spacing in the generated doc doesn't seem to reflect the changes. The header is still spaced out as if the spaces weren't removed.
Hello
I've been using this for years and love it so thank you, but when I was checking something over, I realised my links now say 'Not Found' in the top left. I double checked and the original documents haven't been deleted, and I tried it again with another document and it isn't working for new ones either. I tried it on the Mac in both Chrome and Safari. Is there an issue? Sample link and screenshot: https://gdoc.pub/doc/1cY6qgS5ylRF8FDTD8zMr8wOI4o0Wwdtou3smB10gOp8#?usp=sharing
I'm new to Google docs and publisher, after generating a google doc and using publisher, the url/web link did not maintain the background color of the original google doc. Any idea how to correct this?
Hello
This text is now appearing in the header of published documents, which has never appeared before. I'm sure it means the page is automatically updated every 5 minutes, but it'd be helpful to be in the source language if it is there! Any chance it can be removed or reflect the language of the document?
The hyperlinks work in the original published version but nothing happens when using this. Is it a bug or a missing feature.
https://gdoc.pub/doc/1q-vsEFExos8Oj_eDzrHcQZGZ2ld-k8Yp8Y4UlyZdrY0#?usp=sharing
Just says "Found" when I try using the service.
I have a document with a black page background with white text. When published and viewed it is white on white.
Thought this would work but it didnt help...
help please!
this is the google doc link
I have several horizontal lines in my doc but these don't appear in the formatted version. They also don't appear in the version published without formatting.
Not sure but looks like CloudFlare breaks the encoding.
Text is totally ok, I tried to play with it but the artifacts are always here. In new locations if some changes were made.
Here's a doc:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LLGEgvj2fJrENXkGKDat8dBMRyew5phLsFY0FsKqcOY/pub
http://gdoc.pub/1LLGEgvj2fJrENXkGKDat8dBMRyew5phLsFY0FsKqcOY
The bug is present in all browsers.
Also note the text contains hebrew characters.
As of 3/28 10:30MST https://gdoc.pub/ is returning a 502 Bad Gateway nginx/1.4.6 (Ubuntu) error.
Hello,
Is it possible to use this with Google Sheets? If so, which publish format should I choose?
Thanks!
Hi Augustin, I'm a huge fan of Google Docs Publisher. Been using it to format the following spreadsheet for 9 months now without issue, but today it stopped working. It just says "Not Found."
Here is the google doc:
Please let me know if there's anything to be done, thank you!!
I have several chapters of a book I am publishing on the web and 2 of them result in this error message:
WARNING: Document too big
Your document is too big to be displayed with gdoc.pub. Try reducing it's size or use the original document URL.
Thanks for your comprehension,
Augustin Riedinger
Is there any possibility the maximum size could be increased slightly? Or perhaps is there some way I could host your source on my own server and increase the size allowed?
We are trying to publish a document onto our webpage but keep getting a document is too big error. Can you advise how to proceed?
