Slight memory leak on route change

Because the AJAX refreshes using $interval, it doesn't get cleared on route change, because the $interval still runs (because $destroy doesn't seem to get called), leading to more and more AJAX requests, until HTTP 429 is sent (very bad, because then it appears to the user that the server is down).

Refactor front-end

Ideally, these guidelines should be followed to ensure that the code remains manageable, and that duplication is avoided.

Test Docker support, add Vagrant support.

PhantomJS compatibility

Useful for SEO and JS-less browsers, see this.

Catch signal for user registered and add posting privileges.

Djoser's activate account and reset password features don't actually process the request

This is because they want a POST, but the link is a GET. This can be fixed by piping them through the frontend where Angular can send a POST for us.

Code consistency

The frontend doesn't follow good coding conventions, this needs fixing to save effort later.

Unit tests for frontend.

Get some unit tests for the serializers and API

Remove Djoser and create a custom User Profile and authentication system

Perhaps JWT could be used? This tutorial might be helpful for creating a user profile model with avatars etc.

/api/v0.1/users/:id/notifications could show public notifications (Notification.objects.filter(public=True)).

Strange pop-in of tags

The tags don't seem to load in nicely, perhaps using HyperlinkedModelSerializer would be better in order to save some queries.

Can't easily be fixed server-side, needs to be fixed client-side.

TokenService returning true if no reply from server (or ng-show logic not working right)
