How do i get this working in Visual Studio Code?

Hi there I am new to Angular 2 and not familiar with the cli. I want to write an angular front end for my .Net Core application.

I tried opening this tutorial in Visual Studio Code, and I got it to run but it just hangs at 'loading daily deals'.

Error when trying to get /api/deals/private with no token to check security

When I try to check if /api/deals/private is protected, using directly in browser, it shows this error, not only the 401 Unauthorized.

ng2auth. can't start node

Upon ng serve i'm getting "webpack: bundle is now VALID" and nothing else. Nobody's listening on port 4002. Though "server" side is ok on 3001.
