I haven't tracked down exactly what conditions are necessary to reproduce this
issue -- in fact, at
first I thought it was a transient issue because I couldn't reproduce it, but
then it happened again
while I was filing the bug report about gmail.
When editing text in a textarea form field, under certain unclear conditions
pressing backspace will
cause the current paragraph's text to turn invisible (possibly white on white).
Additional characters
typed in this condition will not be visible, but the cursor moves and behaves
normally, as if the text
were still there. Selecting the unreadable text (for instance, by using ctrl+a
to select all) reveals
the content and deselecting returns the display to normal until the next time
backspace is used.
I'm using WebKit trunk from SVN and Arora from git, both updated and built last
night. Other than
WebKit, I'm using the release version of Qt 4.4.0, using QWS on an ATI Mach64
accelerated
framebuffer. Celeron (Coppermine) 500MHz processor, 128MB of RAM. 1024x768
display running
at 32-bit color.
And I didn't manage to trigger the bug with this post. I'll continue to
experiment to see if I can find
a body of text that can consistently reproduce it.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start Browswer behind NTLM proxy such as Network Appliance NetCache proxy
2. No web-page loads (www.google.com) (e.g. browser no workie)
3. There is no step 3.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see a web-page.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Latest 5-22-2008 snapshot. Windows Vista, Windows XP SP1
Please provide any additional information below.
I think this has to do with the fact that QAuthenticator doesn't support
multi-challenge responses. See documentation inside qauthenticator.cpp
[C:\Qt\4.4.0\src\network\kernel]:
/*
Fun from the HTTP 1.1 specs, that we currently ignore:
User agents are advised to take special care in parsing the WWW-
Authenticate field value as it might contain more than one challenge,
or if more than one WWW-Authenticate header field is provided, the
contents of a challenge itself can contain a comma-separated list of
authentication parameters.

doesn't seem to be

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use a dark-coloured KDE scheme ("Dark blue" for example) with dark
backgrounds and light-coloured text.
2. Start up Arora

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I don't see the text in the address bar while the page is loading. Since
the loading bar is too bright-coloured, hiding the white text.

Hello,
it would be nice if Arora would somehow limit the width of the tabs, or
even make them constant-width.
Some webpages have so looong titles that sometimes only with 2 tabs open I
already have to scroll horizontally.
Thanks for Arora!

Below I attach polish translation file for Arora from the current git.
I noticed, however, that some lines seem like they shouldn't be translated
at all eg. "DUMMY ICON", "INTRO TEXT DUMMY", "ICON" or "Times 16" and
"Courier 13". I made translations for them but left their type as
"unfinished", so if they should be translated nevertheless, then polish
verion is already there. If not, please remove it for the sake of future
translators.

As long as we're talking about keyboard navigation... Ctrl+[/] is nice in
its own way but it's not consistent with other browsers. IE, Firefox, and
Opera all support Ctrl+Tab/Ctrl+Shift+Tab for switching tabs, as well as a
few non-web-browser applications.
Binding Alt+D to the same thing as Ctrl+L will increase compatibility with
Firefox keyboard controls. (Ctrl+L is of course consistent with Safari, so
I wouldn't get rid of it.)
Ctrl+F4 being "close tab" is consistent with Firefox and Internet Explorer.
Ctrl+W works in Firefox, Opera, and Safari (well, Cmd+W), so that should
stay, too.
Of course, feel free to close this issue with great prejudice if you've got
a keybindings editor in the works.

gmail seems to think Arora is a fully-supported browser -- I assume it's
because it detects WebKit
and Safari 3 is supported -- and tries to do its normal login routine, but this
ends up in an infinite
redirect loop.
The gmail help files suggest trying to access gmail via
https://mail.google.com/mail for this kind of
situation, which sort of helps -- it doesn't redirect ad infinitum, it just
eventually reaches an error
page. I'm not sure if this is a bug in gmail itself, and WebKit is behaving
itself, or if some behavior
gmail is expecting to work isn't properly supported yet.
As an incomplete workaround, Arora users can access gmail's "Basic View" by
logging in through
https://mail.google.com/mail?ui=html until the issue is resolved.

That would be great to have possibility to filter content. Applying
regexp's to URL should be easy, but need to create UI (i.e. popup menu
and/or atleast list-like editor).
For example next createRequest. Why there is no predefined static
constructors for QNetworkReply with errors like DNS, no access etc.
QNetworkReply * NetworkAccessManager::createRequest (
Operation op, const QNetworkRequest & req,
QIODevice * outgoingData)
{
if (req.url().host().startsWith("pagead", Qt::CaseInsensitive)) {
QNetworkRequest dummy;
return QNetworkAccessManager::createRequest(op, dummy, outgoingData);
} else {
return QNetworkAccessManager::createRequest(op, req, outgoingData);
}
}

A useful shortcut which is missing is Ctrl+Enter to complete the URL,
usually adding 'www' and '.com'.
So if I type 'google', I get 'www.google.com'; maybe it would be useful if
you could have a preference about the domain to add (e.g. '.org')

1. Type any text in the address bar that contains spaces.

In fact, it would be nice if the address bar was further reworked like in
Firefox, so that typing something in the address bar that can't be resolved
into an address would instead trigger Google's "I'm feeling lucky" mode.
