Crowd Speed Analysis

Estimating Pedestrian Speed using GPS Tracks

How to reproduce:

  1. Download or clone the repo
  2. Move "testarea" vector data to the appropriate directory
  3. In the script "PedestrianSpeed.py", change Paths variables to you directories
  4. Copy the script into QGis python editor
  5. One-click execution

The executed operations are:

  1. Clipping data based on "testarea"
  2. Adding Average speed field and values
  3. Adding Instant speed field and values
  4. Adding Flow direction field and values
  5. Boxplot for average speed of the tracks
  6. 3D plot for the track

Results

Tip: Expand the plot to fullscreen for better viewing
