Pre-requisites

Install Qt5 and QtCharts libraries and development files.

Build

You can use QtCreator to build the program. You can also use qmake in commandline:

qmake -config release && make
sudo make install

Usage

In very short: by clicking on the QSpeakers icon in your preferred menu, the application shows up. Select a loudspeaker or enter a new one by filling its Thiele/Small mechanical parameters. Click on optimize and you're done: the best enclosure volume is calculated for you.

Homepage

QSpeakers homepage with source releases and Microsoft® Windows® installer is currently hosted on my old website

Thanks

Thanks to Upacesky for his free svg drawing

qspeakers's Issues

About this project

Hey this is a really cool project, I was wondering where do you find the maths algorithm to calculate the frequency response I would like to add a few charts to this tool like Cone Excursion and Air velocity but I just cant find the formulas anywhere.

Also I would like to possibly contribute to this tool I could write a box designer using an opengl canvas and possibly port the whole tool to my iPad to make it easier to work at my workbench.

Please support more than 8 drivers

Hi be1,
I only found out about qspeakers recently and I really like it. So far I've been using a really ancient WinISD version under Wine and while it does work, I'm getting tired of both WinISD and Wine. I have been looking for something that runs on Linux natively and is more pleasing to the eye. qspeakers looks really nice and I like the fact that it is native to Linux and actively maintained.

While browsing diyaudio.com this evening I wanted to simulate a line array with the Visaton FRS5X. I'd like to sim a line array of those drivers concerning closed box volume (and potentially max SPL as defined by maximun excursion and the drivers power handling). Unfortunately, qspeakers does not simulate more than 8 drivers in one enclosure.

Could you increase the maximum number of drivers to something higher, like 64 or 128? That would help me with big enclosures full of tiny speakers :)

Thanks and all the best,
ariendj

Exports in 3D OpenScad

Hello
Fantastic software
I use it in ArchLinux x86-64
I have encountered a problem with the export to OpenScad 3D.
The file is exported in cm, while OpenScad reads them in mm.
Is it possible to change the unit of measurement?

How to generate frequency response of mobile devices

Dear Sir
this is a really cool project,I am an AI software engineer. My recent work requires knowledge of acoustics and structure, but I have never been exposed to it before.
I need to generate a lot of mobile device impulse responses to generate data and then train the AI model. As described in the second section of the Appendix.
I wonder if your program can generate some frequency curves for devices like Huawei Mate, iPhone , Samsung and smartspeaker and laptop?

Thanks!
