beaker-core-tasks's Issues

[RFE] Run reservesys directly without make run involment

Running command killall make will result to abort reservation and system is returned back to Beaker.
We should try to minimize the impact on user when they running reservesys.

/virt/install task fails on networks without DHCP server

Describe the bug
A /virt/install task executed on a system with static IPv4 configuration and without a DHCP server on the network fails.
I can see that the default network device is not configured with IPv4 after /virt/install is started.

seems to be the problem - Replacing the BOOTPROTO=dhcp line with static IPv4 settings helps (networking is up and running after restarting NetworkManager)

Version-Release number
/virt/install 4.0-101

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Run the /virt/install task on a host system connected to a network without a DHCP server.

Actual behavior
/virt/install cannot complete, no network connection is available

Expected behavior
/virt/install completes successfully

Additional context
RH J:4739893

[BUG?] /virt/install task aborting

Describe the bug

I see an abort of the /virt/install task in the internal beaker deployment at RH, task T:108667634 this could be connected to network issues meaning that it may be a good idea to make the task more robust so that it fails gracefully or handles network issues better.

Version-Release number

Beaker 27.4
/virt/install task 4.0-101

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

not sure how reproducible this is...

Actual behavior
Task aborted after a long timeout

Expected behavior
Task either works or fails earlier without an abort.
