linphone-bb10's Issues

UI Improvements, Suggestions, ...

While it seems, you already used some QML elements like switches and drop-down menus, the app still lacks native feel. It would be great, if you could apply some BlackBerry Cascades design principles like menus, swipe gestures, themes (people love the inverted theme) it would certainly help the app to stand out more. Furthermore, active frames could be used https://developer.blackberry.com/native/documentation/ui/index.html . Something like this helps marketing as well http://devblog.blackberry.com/2016/02/great-apps-on-blackberry/ . Regards.

Headless / Run in Background Functionality

This is probably the hardest one to implement, but what really makes an application like VoIP shine is, when it runs in the background. While it is a tedious amount of work, this is one of the most prominent features on a multitasking OS like BlackBerry 10. People don't want to leave the app open all the time, for now, when the app is not active, it loses connection and has to re-register with the server again. More info: https://developer.blackberry.com/native/documentation/device_platform/headless_apps/ . Regards.

Registration from within application appears to be broken

First of all, thanks for your continued commitment. According to (negative) store reviews and this thread http://forums.crackberry.com/blackberry-10-apps-f274/linphone-new-voip-app-blackberry-10-a-1068225/ it doesn't seem to be possible, to register a new Linphone account from inside the app. I wasn't successful myself, but it worked on the website. Where are the log files stored? Is it possible to debug and paste them into the home folder? Thanks and regards!

Suboptimal OS Version in About Screen

Just some really small gripe - in the about screen it states "BlackBerry OS 10.3.1.0" despite running a version of 10.3.2. I guess, that's the latest SDK version, but from an end users perspective it should make more sense to either print "SDK version" or print the actual OS version. Regards.

[Request] Release build in Appstore (or elsewhere)

Hi! That's some impressive work you've done there. Didn't even know this existed for BlackBerry 10 and is progressing so nicely! Any chance you could release a build here, on Beta Zone or even BlackBerry World to make it more accessible? This kind of software is really missing on the platform. Thanks for your efforts anyway!

Crash when trying to add my voip.ms account

Even if I just enter my username and domain (with or without password or display name) when I hit "configure" it crashes the app. So I cannot use it right now because it will not add my account.

Blackberry Q10

Blackberry 10 audio issue

Linphone on Blackberry Q10 most of the time produces no in-call audio, only cracklings. Sometimes you can hear sound if you switch from speaker to earphone and vice versa but also with cracklings. It works correctly only about 1 time in 10. You can see lots of warnings in logs:

WARNING ms_qsa_write_process: Removing extra data for sound card (960 bytes)

Debug logs were uploaded and sent to the developers. Taki (another softphone for Blackberry) works fine. The problem could be in too small audio buffer, as I face the same issue with Linux version of Linphone with Pulseaudio and forced to use Alsa Linphone backend.

Reduce size of deployed app

Don't know, if you're open for some bug reports, but here I go anyway - the size of the app is around 70MB, which is rather high imho. Especially since almost half of it seems to be one file named dont_wait_too_long.wav. In fact, the big size is mostly due to several mega byte sized WAV-files. Is it really necessary to ship these with the application? It may look weird to end users and makes install/update processes time consuming, not everybody has fiber internet. Regards.
