office-pong's Issues

Joint leaderboard positions

Currently, joint leaderboard positions show different positions. Should they show the same position or should there be another ranking that sorts them?

Related to this, people who are in the same position seem to flicker and change position. Could be a state issue?

image

Skeleton page

Initial load of the dashboard shows no data and empty cards. Could do with a skeleton page for initial load

Match history slowing down site

I looks like the player names are loaded in after the match history. Sometimes there's a delay between showing the match scores and showing the player names

Monthly Tournaments / Player of the Month

I think we could have a monthly tournament running, where players are random paired up at the start of the month and then will have to play their way to become tournament champion.

The tournament will run throughout the month to give time for everyone to get their games in. At the end of the month the winner gets awarded with some prestige status (badge next to their name on scoreboard, or num of times they've won, etc).

Tournament

In terms of actual implementation this wouldn't be too difficult, maybe a few prisma modifications but we could mostly use Match without scores to initialise the tournament, and there are some nice react libs for the ui:

https://www.npmjs.com/package/react-brackets

Live update leaderboard

Leaderboard could live update when other clients submit matches.

Could be done via polling, or cooler still, websockets.

Elo rating

Can leaderboard be scored by Elo? You may need to recalculate ratings based on match history
