react-hooks-examples's Issues

setValue is not executed ?!

Hey i`ve used ur customHook idea of an input. Now I'm in trouble, because the setValue() is not executed. Any idea? The initial value works fine :/

import React, { useState } from 'react';
import Input from 'chayns-components/lib/react-chayns-input/component/Input';
import Button from 'chayns-components/lib/react-chayns-button/component/Button';
import './addTodo.scss';

const useInputValue = (initialValue, addTodo) => {
    const [value, setValue] = useState(initialValue);

    return {
        value,
        onChange: input => setValue(input),
        submit: () => {
            addTodo(value);
            setValue('');
        }
    };
};

export default ({ addTodo }) => {
    const { value, onChange, submit } = useInputValue('Test', addTodo);
    return (
        <div className="add-todo">
            <Input
                value={value}
                onChange={onChange}
                placeholder="add todo"
                onEnter={submit}
            />
            <Button
                className="add-todo__button"
                onClick={submit}
                disabled={value.length <= 0}
            >
                +
            </Button>
        </div>
    );
};

with kind regards,
kai

Async not allowed inside useEffect()

Great video and clean approach. However, it seems that in the React 16.8 this way of using async is not allowed. The console throws this error:

Warning: An Effect function must not return anything besides a function, which is used for clean-up. It looks like you wrote useEffect(async () => ...) or returned a Promise.

Any chance you can refactor to comply?
