Prefix Address

Maybe I'm missing something, but what is the point of the 'Prefix Address'.. it doesn't appear to make any sense!?

Example:

2001::/32

Prefix Length: 32
Abbreviated Address:   2001::
Unabbreviated Address: 2001:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000
Number of IPs: 79,228,162,514,264,337,593,543,950,336
Start IP: 2001:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000
End IP:   2001:0000:ffff:ffff:ffff:ffff:ffff:ffff
Prefix Address: ffff:ffff:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000

What is Prefix Address: ffff:ffff:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000

I noticed the same type of result with multiple tests, but do not understand what the Prefix Address is suppose to represent. If there's something I missed, please provide a link to documentation. Thx
